Nam Bai accommodation from AU$18

We ended up leaving this property earlier than planned because we were really disappointed with our stay. We know our visit fell over Lunar New Year, which is obviously a very busy time, and we completely understand that this can make things more hectic. That said, from the moment we arrived, we didn’t feel welcomed. We had booked and paid in advance and arrived three hours after check-in time, so we expected our room to be ready. Instead, we were told that relatives were staying in the room we had booked. We were also informed that someone had previously tried to cancel our booking, which was worrying. There was no real greeting or welcome, and it immediately made us feel like we were an inconvenience. There was also a clear language barrier. We understand there may only be one English-speaking staff member, but at times other staff seemed dismissive and even walked away while we were trying to speak with them. We stayed polite and respectful throughout, but it didn’t feel like that effort was returned. Very little information was shared with us during our stay. We weren’t approached about the advertised trekking tour, and since we didn’t book one, we weren’t given any suggestions on what else we could do. One evening, we came out of our room to find staff and other guests all eating dinner together, which hadn’t been mentioned to us at all.
