"Caravan on a lake"
Not what we expected, caravan very small, do not stay there in winter not enough heating, we froze. If you do take extra heating. Get the 3 bedroom for extra space. Nice views of the lake, cafe was shut during winter, I would only stay here during warmer months.

Seymour Motel

144 Goulburn Valley Highway, Seymour - Map
"Not bad for the price"
I arrived about 5.30pm in late winter. The bell on the door at reception didn't work, and it took me a few minutes to attract attention - I eventually had to phone them. The guy was quite pleasant when I did get through to him. When I got to the room, the bed hadn't been made and there were wet towels on the floor, so back to reception. Different room. The room was a bit stark, but did the job - heating (electric blanket) was fine while I was in bed. Self-serve breakfast (cereal, toast, juice/coffee/tea) was included and was quite adequate. The motel is 50m back from the Seymour bypass, and there is potential for road noise from passing semi-trailers, but most of them stick to the motorway; I only heard one go by.

    Pocket Guide: Nagambie

If you love outdoor adventures, or just kicking back and drinking wine, you’ll love Nagambie! A pretty, rustic town on the shores of an artificial lake, Nagambie is a handy weekend getaway just 90 minutes from Melbourne. Kayaking, fishing, nature walks, golf, and dining are just some of the things you can get up to, so ditch the city and wake up among the quaint and charming streets by booking one of our Nagambie hotels!

Named after an Aboriginal word for ‘lagoon’, Nagambie went through that all-important rite of passage for becoming a town – getting a post office – in 1870. Lake Nagambie was formed by damming the Goulburn River in 1891, and today it’s one of Nagambie’s most well-known features. Nagambie is also well-known as the birthplace of champion racehorse Black Caviar.

Nagambie Lakes Leisure Park is the best way to see the lake for yourself. Hire a kayak or canoe and explore the lake at your own pace, or take it easy on a river cruise. Dangle your rod from boat or shore and catch some fish! You can also take a Jet Ski or water ski or simply take a walk around the shores of the lake. When the sun goes down, it’s a great place for a picnic. Visit the Nagambie Golf Club to play golf in the green surrounds of the lake. And if you want some adventure, Nagambie offers skydiving from 15,000 feet – the highest in Victoria. Falling out of a plane will show you a different side to Nagambie, to say the least!

Next to the lake you’ll find High Street. The heart of town in Nagambie, this quiet strip is filled with colonial buildings, neat green parks and memorials. Wander this long stretch of road to uncover some of Nagambie’s unique shops, restaurants and wineries. You don’t have to stick to the middle of town if you love wine either. There are vineyards on the Goulburn River with restaurants and Goulburn River views to go with your glass of Shiraz.

Want to get close to Nagambie’s natural scenery? Tahbilk Wetlands has more than four kilometres of walking tracks and boardwalks. It’s the home of endangered species like the Small Scurf Pea plant and the freshwater catfish. You can bird-watch, eat a meal at the cafe, explore the woodlands and cross long, wooden bridges over lily-covered lakes.

From wetlands to wine, shopping to skydiving, Nagambie has something to suit every kind of holiday. Book your Nagambie accommodation with us! If you need a flight to Melbourne, we can help with that too!
