We loved our stay at Blackwood Cottages. Property was absolutely beautiful and our hosts were amazing and so friendly. Loved hearing about the history of the property and especially thankful for the delicious local produce provided (such a wonderful surprise). The Hobbit Cottage was just gorgeous and we loved having a fire at night (it was cold enough for us Queenslanders!). Spectacular views from all around, and we loved wandering around the farm with the friendly dogs! Couldn't have asked for a better experience on our holiday, I'd recommend it to everyone. Thank you so much!!

Relaxing and serene

From the minute you get there you are made to feel welcome by Belinda and Ian. It was peaceful and relaxing. The gardens are gorgeous as is the cottage.

I wish we had stayed for longer!

Pros: Everything about our staying was beautiful, the setting, the cottage, the animals, the gardens, and the warm welcome by Belinda and Ian. We wish we had booked more than two nights! Great value for money and so peaceful and relaxing. Good vicinity to explore cradle mountain and good distance from the nearest town for supermarkets etc. . We will definitely stay again. Perfect place for children as well with so many beautiful animals to interact with!
Cons: Absolutely perfect . Would not change a thing. . .

Scenic, peaceful country setting, close to caves

We stayed in the Hobbit house which was lovely. I particularly appreciated the gluten free supplies that were left in the kitchen for our breakfast. They were plentiful and of a high quality. There were also fresh eggs, some of them were blue! Thank You! We really enjoyed the pot bellied stove in the fireplace with wood supplied. It was very effective at heating the room and was lovely to sit and look at. The fresh flowers on the table were a special touch. The beds were comfortable and had very good warm blankets. There was a great outdoor area, including a seat overlooking fields with lamas. A colourful rooster and hens wandered around the yard. Lovely! It was a short drive to the spectacular caves which we really enjoyed. We also visited the Trowunna wildlife park where we learnt about Tasmanian devils, wombats etc. We also had a short bushwalk at the nearby Alum Ciffs. We had a very relaxing and interesting time here and would love to return sometime.
