welcome to Matera a unique work of art in the world. the green gecko apartment is immersed in the beautiful historical setting of the Sasso Caveoso, where it is possible to live in the typical rock habitat that gave rise to human life in the rugged rock territory called "tufo". It is an honor for us to host you in a typical house carved into the rock for an experience of indescribable charm in a city out of the ordinary. In this spirit we have tried to preserve the style and essence of typical homes, without too many luxuries and frills.

Comfy, cute, convenient Cave apartment

Our host Daniela made us feel so welcome with an array of treats and food for us. you can tell they love this place and care about the guests. It’s conveniently located near restaurants, tourist walks and one of the main piazzi. The biggest challenge in Matera is parking but we were directed to a big public parking garage with a convenient shuttle which drops one off about a block from Geco Green. We were three people myself, mia moglie e mia figlia (21yo). We stayed two nights. We can highly recommend Geco Green for a stay in Matera.
Stayed 2 nights in May 2024
