We stayed in two Deluxe Bure and they are very dated and in need of repair, there was tape holding tiles and shower screens cracked, no complimentary water or milk. And overall needed a good clean. One JetSki for 160 rooms at school holiday time... Overall most staff were welcoming, food in main area could be improved. Adult only restaurants were nice. Pool area was nice.

Beautiful island - hotel is run down - no food

I was really exited to visit Fiji - it had been a lifelong dream of mine. My partner and I were hesitant about a resort booking but there seemed to be a copious amount if areas to eat and drink at figured we could do a week here. Upon arriving we found out all the restaurants had been cut down to one location. And it was very expensive. We were told we could order off the menu of all 4 restaurants there, but often more the half of each menu was unavailable - and there were days where the buffet option was not available. We were told these restaurants were under construction - but they looks abandoned and like no one has been in them for several years. That was the feel of the resort - like 10 years ago it must have been amazing. But no upkeep or care has been invested in the hotel. Broken tiles around the pool - king bed was just 2 beds pushed together. The staff was very friendly and greeting - but I felt badly because we would always try to order food and they often had to say we don't have it don't have it . They were trying their best in a hotel that gave them no support to satisfy customers. We basically went down to the backpackers to eat as much as we could because the 35 fjd hamburger just wasn't worth it. And the hotel is the only option for food at extremely high prices for poor quality food. We spent most of our time exploring the island and walking around which was amazing. Also the Wi-Fi is 20$ extra per day. Sea Fiji adventures saved our trip - they are great

Time out on Mana

Pros: Quiet and relaxing
Cons: Food - Bring back the buffet no matter what the number of guests.
Location: Snorkel off the North Beach when possible. Beautiful!
First time back to Mana in 10 years. No rain in months meant island not green and as lush as once was. Food and Beverage an issue with restaurant consistency and selection poor in the low occupancy season. People still as lovely as ever. Happy to pay the price if the quality, selection and standard of food increases.

not as good as i had hoped

Pros: the island is versatile with lots to do for younger kids (3 - 12)- visit the village disappointing if you have been elsewhere e.g. Castaway
Cons: having to hire in and out the scuba gear each day was annoying having to hire in and out the towels each day was annoying the buffet
disappointed in the overall experience staff didnt seem to care the buffet was pretty bad, food ran out the asian bar - took 1 hour 40 minutes to get a drink when second people there tried to get a downgrade to be closer to friends - said wouldn't need a refund just wanted to be closer - they wouldn't let me tiles slippery around pool annoying having to get towels and scuba in and out each day when there for 4 nights

Laid back family resort

Pros: The island is beautiful and big enough to spend several days on,the main pool is great for kids, and there is a separate pool just for adults.
Cons: The quality of the food - Although I have been told this is common across many resorts in Fiji.
Mana Island is a reasonably large, well laid out, and enjoyable place. The staff were fantastic, the pool is nice, and it's kids friendly. The bure (with an outdoor shower - which was neat) was clean, tidy, and air conditioned. Our biggest complaint would be the food. It's not stupidly expensive, but the quality simply didn't match the price. There were several options of where to eat, but the Kura restaurant certainly had the best food, and the buffet was the worst. We were glad we brought our own breakfast food since the breakfast buffet was quite poor. The ferry ride to the resort was beautiful, but also very expensive. You certainly need to check the price and add it to the accommodation cost before comparing it to places on the main island. The ferry timetable also didn't line up with our flight times very well, so be careful with that.

Fantastic view from room, very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was a sight to behold. Pool area was great. Snorkeling was better on the north side but fantastic water sports on the south side, paddle boards, hobby cat & kayaks free which was brilliant.

Perfect setting

Cons: Food
A lovely experience on a great island. Beaches are great and the Adult Pool was brilliant. As you would expect in Fiji very friendly and welcoming staff and lots of activities on.

Relaxing holiday

Pros: Pools were lovely with lots of shade. Beach beautiful. Breakfasts were good.
Cons: Not enough sun loungers on beaches so couldn't sit on beach as too hot. Food was not the greatest and flies were everywhere at breakfast time.
Been to Mana 6 times now. Always a lovely holiday. Has changed a lot since I went 5 years ago.
