We arrived 2hrs before stated check-in time as the hotel advise parking spaces are 'first come'..and a number were taken up by a coach for a footy team visiting the Everton stadium, just 200 yards away. A big wedding was also taking place which all added to the atmosphere. Reception staff were so helpful with a 'pre-check-in' so that we could just grab the keys at 3pm. We took coffee at the bar and sat in gorgeous sunshine overlooking the canal. Our waitress apologised for a slight delay on the coffee and said they were on the house. We sat next to 7-8 players from Huddersfield Town who were so respectful, quietly chatting and when they got up to leave, they cleared their tables, pushed the chairs in and it honestly looked like they'd never been there! We took a 20min easy walk into the Dock area and found loads of places for lunch. A taxi back was £7.50. After spritz drinks at the bar, we booked our taxi to the theatre for 7pm. It arrived dead on-time and he was just one of many friendly scousers we met this w'end (£8 this time). Our room was clean, stylish and HUGE. Everything was thought of (I think we'd been upgraded, too); canned water, mini-milk in the fridge but my partner is still grumbling there were no complimentary biscuits!! The bed was HUGE as was the tub bath and walk-in shower. Exposed brick of the old rum warehouse ceilings and thick cast pillars dominate the design but it is so well done. Breakfast was spot-on and..we can't wait to go back to try the spa! Wow
