Stop, Go To The Osthoff

We chose to celebrate our 30th birthday here, and I wanted to love this place but the experience just wasn't great. Check-in was at 4p. I called in the morning to see if we could request an early check-in, they declined, and said I could only make the request once I got there. We arrived about 2:30p, asked again, they said that our villa would be ready in 30 minutes and that I would receive a text. The worker confirmed my number by reading it to me. By 4:45p, I still hadn't received anything and had called the desk twice. They said they were just behind. Our dinner reservation was at 6p, and nobody was ready at this point, so we were getting nervous. I called again, and the worker, Janet, said that they never had my phone number because of hotels.com; which isn't correct because the previous worker read my information to me at check-in. Everything was spread out and scattered. Workers looked panicked but were handing out champagne to keep people calm. The resort is also super spread out for it being freezing outside. I much prefer the Osthoff Resort a bit north and would recommend that any day over this. The customer service from the front desk was rude and blamed me for their problems, the layout of the villa was backwards with rooms downstairs and the kitchen/living room upstairs, the TV was basic cable vs. smart TV options. I could go on. I would expect way better than all of the above issues for $1,100+ a night that was paid.

The property is beautiful and has a lot to offer in the way of food, entertainment and activities; however, they need to work on their housekeeping and general cleanliness in the rooms and bathrooms. It is a large property and perhaps they need more staff but for the price you pay, you shouldn't see things like hair on the bed, towels, water marks on glasses, dust and hair on the furniture, empty shower gel in the bathroom, etc.

They had a 3 piece jazz band playing for entertainment and then we went to the bar area where they had a dj. Was a very fun evening after we got back from a party off site.

NOT A RESORT and SPA!!

This is not a Resort and Spa. I would consider this Wisconsin Dells Southeast. Chilren running around and sitting at both bars, unsupervised kids given rooms of their own making noise until Midnight until we finally (after multiple attemps) got security to visit the room. This was going on from 7pm until midnight. Terrible managment. Our complain went no where, they will tell you it's not their problem. If you are couple looking for a quiet weekend, STAY AWAY!! the Fairfield down the block would have been much better!!!!

Make it Grand!

Our stay was amazing! We were there to celebrate her birthday and to take a relaxing break after the holidays. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. Our room was beautiful, clean, and well taken care of. Everything was ready for us and we had a wonderful time.
