Hotel staff was friendly. I had a room on 4th floor and it was comfortable and clean and quiet. There was a leak in the shower stall and the bathroom floor was almost flooded. It was chilly in the room and when I turned on the heater it smelled like diesel exhaust and made me dizzy so I turned it off.

Receptionist at front desk was hardly welcoming. Refrigerator in room did not work. Outside the room and all of the common areas, including dining area, were freezing cold with blowing air. When I say cold, like between a refrigerator and freezer cold. The best part was the breakfast buffet and the nice hostess. I remember years ago this place was a Marriott. What a disappointment.

The first room was filthy, the second room was better although it was still not as clean as I felt it should have been. The hotel was not very clean either. The floors in the halls need vacuuming. The breakfast was warm ish and way overpriced. 18 bucks to eat what you get at other hotels for free. It was basically eating in a freezer staff members even wearing winter coats inside. The desk staff was good but the hotel isn’t. I’ve stayed at many Marriotts and have never been more disappointed.

A Nice Hotel

We stayed at the South Bend Doubletree during football weekend at Notre Dame. The hotel has been freshly remodeled and was extremely convenient with its proximity to the University of Notre Dame. Special recognition to Randall and Brandon at the front desk. Their customer care and patience were outstanding. They are the reason our stay was excellent. The employees who work at the Starbucks in the lobby also did a fantastic job. As expected, following a football game on a Saturday, neighboring rooms could be louder than normal, with fans relaxing after the game.

The ironing board was left out and the pillows were messed up on the bed like it had been slept on. I checked in at midnight and was too tired to complain. Disappointing especially for $800 for the night.

The Staff at the Hotel were awesome and I would give them 5 stars for friendliness and being helpful. The hotel itself though needs some major improvements starting with the off putting smell that permeated throughout the hotel. I’m not sure what it was from possibly the indoor pool? But it was fowl. Also, in my from the tv remote did not work I had to point it at the side of the wall to get it turned on.

Hotel staff were great! Very friendly and helpful. The only thing I wasn’t pleased with was $18 breakfast buffet that was not worth the price. It’s the same food you get at hotels offering free breakfast. The hotel was clean, my overall experience was great! I would definitely stay there again
