We loved our stay at Hotel Kanra Kyoto. We first stayed here in 2014 and so this was our second visit. We were impressed in 2014, and we were even more impressed on our recent visit! The hotel is beautiful. Very Zen-like and you feel like a VIP guest as soon as you walk in. Excellent customer service, excellent rooms, excellent everything! We will definitely be back here on a future trip! Thank you to the wonderful staff at Hotel Kanra!

This has to be one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed at! The decor and cleanliness of both the communal spaces and the rooms were impeccable. We loved the thoughtful incorporation of Japanese interior design and all the unique cultural experiences offered through the hotel. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, always ready to assist with any need and quick to find helpful solutions. We also dined at their teppanyaki restaurant and enjoyed the breakfast buffet—both were absolutely delicious! Honestly, I wish I lived here. Highly recommend to anyone visiting!

This is the best hotel in Kyoto. The property is very beautiful and relaxing. The room is very spacious, the amenities top notch, the tub is amazing. The breakfast is one of the best I’ve ever had. Traditional Japanese breakfast with also western dishes. The customer service is the best. Everyone was so warm and welcoming and helped us with directions and recommendations and even helped us ship our luggage to our next hotel.
