This is a truly tranquil location for those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, yet is less than 4 miles from a great range of amenities and visitor attractions in Keswick, and 1½ miles from Braithwaite, which has a village shop, pubs and restaurants. A gallery and tea room can also be found 100 yards from the property. The Whinlatter Visitor Centre, in England’s only true mountain forest, is the hub for many activities, including the Whinlatter Wildplay trail designed for children, the longest mountain bike trail in England, forest walks and an osprey viewing point. It also boasts an information centre, forest shop and café. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Ideal for a week exploring the lakes
Great location, close enough to Keswick but in a peaceful, quiet location. The cottage itself has everything you could need and there are great walks and cycles on and off road straight from the front door!
Bottle of bubbles to greet us was a lovely surprise.

A hideaway
Well-cared for property with all that we needed. Nice to be welcomed with a letter from our hosts and a bottle of prosecco! The river running by the old sawmill sent me to sleep at night, and the peace of the area was great, while the closeness of Keswick meant you were easily able to get stores or find eating places.
