1 out of 5 Stars: Nightmare Check-in & Zero Communication
My family of 3 arrived at 9 PM on a rainy night, only to be denied entry by security because the host never sent the required check-in instructions or access QR code.
The contact number listed on Hotels.com was out of service, and the host ignored all messages. We were stranded outside for nearly two hours. Out of desperation, a kind security guard helped us get an alternate number for the host. We were then forced to make an unannounced SGD 50 deposit via WhatsApp and send passport photos over a non-secure chat just to get inside at 10:40 PM.
To make matters worse, Hotels.com support was completely unhelpful during the crisis, putting me on hold for 8 minutes on an overseas roaming call. Then, they woke us up with repeated from between 2 AM and 6 AM to "cancel the booking," disrupting what little rest we had. Absolutely terrible coordination from both the host and the platform.
