Great place to stay before catching a plane. The rooms are very clean and the breakfast was delicious. On the morning when we were there, the staff performed a little breakfast musical show that was very touching, including a jazzy national anthem. Also, I enjoyed the large screens showing WildEarth in the eating area. The Best of South Africa! Pool and gym were clean and not busy.

This city lodge is a clone of other branches but a considerable mark up in price, because of proximity to the airport. Check in and out was efficient. The room smelled strongly of mildew and mold, the air conditioner in desperate need of service (I struggled to sleep because of the noise). Cubboards would not close and there was a peep hole in the door I had to cover with toilet paper or any passer by could look in. In general the place has an air of neglect, because why maintain standards when you are one of two hotels in walking distance from the airport.
