The unit was super clean with the exception of the carpeted stairs--which could use a shampooing. The description said that a designer had updated this unit recently. I'm not sure how it was updated? a couple of added shelves? dishwasher and stove are not updated or countertops. Walls and woodwork are all one color? The view was great. The proximity to Driftwood Beach fantastic. The pictures used on the VRBO are a bit dated. The pictures show a much brighter place than it actually is. The unit (because it is older) has limited outlets. Most of the outlets have old fashioned extension cords for you to plug items into. Also the slider doors have finicky locks. You have to use a bar that has been added to feel more secure. The check in/ check out went smoothly--no surprises/no issues.Although I appreciate an uncluttered place, this is the first place that I've rented that had zero games and puzzles to play. So be sure to bring your own. As far as value...I don't really have a point of reference to judge that...this was first time to visit Jekyll Island. I probably would have given 4 stars if the description been more accurate since I've stayed at units updated in the past.
