it is convenient with public transportation. It was noisy because you can hear every sound due to the way it was built, and some customers were not considerate. I did not get good sleep 2 nights out of the 3 when we were there.

Nice views but dirty

The reviews of this place gave an inaccurate description of this place. The wood floors made it very loud every time you walked. The walls are very thin. The showers would get really dirty towards the end of the day. The only good thing about this place is the gorgeous views.

Beautiful lakeside location with charming adjacent restaurant. Staff are great and amenities are comparable to good hostels. Balcony off private 4-bed dorm was lovely. Great place to stay with family or traveling solo!

The location blown my mind away. Absolutely gorgeous view, and the staff was great. My concern is sharing bathrooms with other guests. I guess I didn’t pay attention to that aspect because I would have not booked a stay in a place where you have to share showers and toilets with people you don’t know. Specially when traveling with children that they don’t know better and take less precautions than us adults when it comes to showering and using the restroom. I will also suggest to add fans in the rooms because it was very hot inside the room the entire night. Although, the room had a window, it was not screened for us to opened and let fresh air come inside. That was a bit disappointing during our stay.

Since it is located a little past Interlaken, it was very convenient that they gave out a bus pass for the duration of our stay. Would recommend!

We LOVED this location. We had a lake view room with a balcony which we very much enjoyed. Highly recommend staying in Iseltwald versus Interlaken because of the charm of the small village and the setting. We didnt see much of Interlaken but it seemed commercialized and didnt have much character, but it was the main transportation hub. If you dont mind coordinating with the bus schedule to get to Iseltwald, it was such a nicer spot to be. The hostel was very clean, the staff were wonderful and very helpful, the view was amazing and we appreciated having the outdoor space to use and common dining room/living room and access to the kitchen. The only drawback is that the building is older and the walls were very thin, but the guests were very respectful and fairly quiet so we slept quite well. They provide earplugs too! Would definitely recommend this place regardless!

Just keep in mind that if you’re planning on getting to Interlaken you probably will need a car. It’s a ten minute drive. But the place is beautiful right on the lake. The staff was super helpful and friendly.

I chose this hostel for a lake view but the property was too basic. Shared bathroom wasn’t a problem but I wouldn’t be going there again. It’s better to stay in Interlaken and visit Iseltwald on the bus for lake view.
