This hotel is located on the very quiet street, but at the same time in the short walking distance from restaurants, shopping and attractions. 10 min away from Interlaken West station. Only one mile of very pleasant walking to a larger station Interlaken OST. Good breakfast, friendly staff, nice garden with picnic area.

Very Unpleasent Experience

I had a terrible stay and can’t believe this hotel carries a 3-star rating, it deserves 1-star at best. Don’t be fooled by the cheaper price. It’s essentially self-service: no reception, just a local phone number that may or may not answer in emergencies. The building has a constant stuffy smell, the “winder” staircase is dangerously narrow for carrying luggage, and our room (#29) had a private bathroom located outside across the hall like a dorm. At 11pm we discovered the shower had only scalding hot water with no cold option in 90° summer heat, and the bathroom also had bugs. Check-in/out is through a self-service machine that wasn’t even working at departure. Worst of all, the owner is completely untrustworthy: they charged me ~$3,600 a month in advance despite booking “Pay at Property” via Hotels.com, then refused to refund after I cancelled within the refund window. I only recovered my money after disputing the charge with my credit card company. This review is for the stay I actually completed after cancelling my original reservation, an experience so bad it left me with nightmares until my refund was secured. This hotel is unsafe, unreliable, and deceptive. Avoid it at all costs.

Lack of service

We stayed three nights at this hotel. The location is pretty far from the train station. From the time we walked in till we left, we never saw anyone at the front desk. You check in and out using the kiosk at the door. The garden house has a glass jar of water for drinking and washing plates. There is no running water. When we get there after 8pm, the water was gone. We had to go to our room to fill up water to heat up using the electric kettle in the garden house. It was dark at night trying to walk to the garden house and I almost tripped. The hotel service did not meet our expectations for a $450/night hotel. There were two flies in the room that we had to take care of them ourselves. The breakfast items were ok, and the service staff were friendly. You could leave your luggage at the small lobby area after you checked out, but there is nobody there keeping an eye on your luggage. Other than the breakfast server, we did not see anyone working at the front desk during our three days stay.

Very accessible to all areas and there is a bus near the hotel. The room was adequate with good housekeeping. The coffee machine was a welcome addition. The fridge was convenient to keep food cold. Breakfast was very good. The hotel is very accessible for both interlaken ost and interlaken west. The garden was lovely but was not able to fully used it as we were out all day on our stay. But a very nice area to chill and have a coffee or tea.

The rooms here are small but have everything you need. Great views and close to restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, and laundry. The air conditioning units work well but are very noisey, when turned on. The location to the Jungfrau region, and lake Breinz/Thun were great! Lots of outdoor things to do around here!

The property and pleasant, friendly staff was a welcome surprise! We had ground floor room with a patio (like the photo) and the there was garden patio in the rear of the property as well. We got to meet the owner and his family while sitting outside there and relaxing with a bottle of wine. All of the staff were super friendly. The morning continental breakfast was quite adequate especially with eggs cooked to-order. The location was on a relatively quiet street just a block off of the main open field/park in the center of Interlaken. We were able to walk to everything in the area.

Unfortunately the staff of this hotel couldn’t care less about your concerns. Example: when we first checked in, the AC in the room was making a loud rattling noise every 10mins. We took a video and showed the front desk lady, she did say she would notify the owner but since it was around 6pm there was nothing she could do. We asked to maybe change rooms but they were fully booked, when expressing our concern about the AC since we arrived during the middle of a heat wave.. front desk lady said we should just leave the windows open. After that annoyance we went on with our stay and had to deal with the noise for the 4 nights we stayed here, no one checked in on us or even notified us that they looked at the AC. It wasn’t until the day before we checked out when asking the front desk a question that they then remember and ask about the AC (way too late). On top of that the breakfast is a joke there is only a few pieces of bread, some boiled eggs, yogurt, cold deli meat/ cheese and barely any fruit. Interlaken is so overpriced on hotels we picked this one for being the cheapest located in Interlaken, spend the extra money and go stay elsewhere!

A very nice hotel near Interlaken West train station. There are several restaurants nearby with excellent food. The staffs are kind and provided very useful information for our travel. Breakfast was very good. It is in a very quiet area and the room is pretty big. All in all, we had a wonderful stay.

The staff were amazing. They helped us check in after hours when our plans were changed because of a late flight. The hotel was in a great location and very walkable to everything in Interlaken. We would definitely stay there again.
