About this property

Nature and Mt. Caves and beach. Now with wifi.

In a large private estate, surrounded by trees and native plants, is this small rural house in the middle of nature. The ideal place to enjoy nature and silence.

If you want to come with 6 people, there is the possibility of also renting the old tool room, adapted (see photos). It is located 30 meters from the main house on the same property. It has its own kitchen and bathroom and can be reached by car. The added price would be € 30 a night + € 45 final cleaning. If you are interested, communicate in your request. It would be charged separately instead

It has the best views over the Teide of all of Tenerife.

An ideal reference point for walks and excursions.

The property is located in the mountains, but with the coast and the beach a short journey of 20 minutes. In the area we recommend San Marcos Beach or the natural ponds of Garachico.

Complimentary wood for the fireplace is offered with the delivery of the house, and more can be ordered, against a fee.

A garden with a view
Spent a week at La Chirita for a bird-watching holiday as a couple in our early 60's. The cottage is on the rustic side, but contains everything that you need for a comfortable self-catering holiday. The jewel in the crown is the location amongst the trees, in the foothills of the pinebelt, with a large, private, wild 'garden' full of native plants/flowers, and birds - canaries dominate, but there are also flyby's of both local pigeons, amongst other endemics. The view of El Teide is fantastic, in an ever-changing skyscape, in which it is occasionally obscured. You could just sit there all day. We bought the Crossbill Nature Guide book, which added greatly to our enjoyment and appreciation of the island, as it includes suggested routes both to drive and hike, not just for us birdwatchers. Shopped in local panaderias for packed lunches. All in all, a great week - easy, no problems, everyone very friendly. Thank you for sharing your lovely property.

In the clouds
The place was amazing, very confortable and clean, with absolutely everything you need. The location is a little hard to get to, even after we had someone guide us for the first time. But once you learn it you are good. We went everywhere from there and really enjoyed our time in Tenerife. Thank you

A LITTLE PARADISE
If you seek Peace, Tranquility and Nature on a break from an Urban life, “La Chirita” may well be your paradise on earth with everything you need for a comfortable break. Hand-built by the owner in the traditional style, this solid little Finca is surrounded by Canarian pines and shrubs with spectacular views of Tiede and the coast. At night, the lack of any light pollution means you can gaze up at a sky that is the best (official) for star-gazing within just 4 hours or so from Europe unless you want to go all the way to Chile or Hawaii. La Chirita is a perfect place to explore the north of the island and the two little supermarkets in El Amparo, a six minute drive down the mountain, have everything one needs but of course, Icod de Los Vinos is not far away for a big stock up. There are lizards and rabbits and I saw 11 different birds including the very pretty Blue Chaffinch as well as Chiff Chaffs, Buzzards and others for the birders amongst readers. I was staying on my own and felt completely safe as I knew I` would. Guillermo and Maria were so welcoming. The organic eggs, wine and delicious Canadian potatoes were a welcome addition to a basic larder of everything needed for a few meals while you find your feet and the local shops. Even neighbours who care for the property left me fresh garden vegetables. One note to add. Google temperatures use Icod de los Vinos , down the mountain as the nearest base to gauge the temperature. This can be misleading if you are checking out the weather in advance of your stay. It is several degrees cooler on the mountain. From mid-September, the clouds often sweep in for as little as 20 minutes or all day. Not all mountains do this but Tenerife has many micro-climates as an explorer will discover. It’s lovely! Those on a short break seeking guaranteed sunshine should stick to the coast or further south. I had the luxury of being there for over 5 weeks and getting a tan not a priority. I hope to return for many years.

Wonderful

Nice authentic house
We stayed 10 days in this nice house, and had a great time. The house has a nice quiet location and a great view of the Teide volcano. The fireplace helped to warm the cool evenings of February. The North coast of Tenerife is very beautiful with lots of lush vegetation and colorful flowers,.even in February. Be prepared for some mist coming from the ocean, but this moisture helps the vegetation. Erica and Maria were very helpful with the small problems we had.

Rustikales Haus in wunderbarer unberührter Natur.
