Asked for a well done omelette which was not on the menu. Was cooked perfectly and had ham and mushroom in, really good and pleasant staff..

Thought it was a double bed but it was two singles, not locked together. Very uncomfortable. Carpet in the room was stained. Room too dark with all lights on. Breakfast: my toast was hardly toasted. Had to ask for butter. Had to ask for a side plate. Didn’t expect to be in an annex. All in all this was an expensive stay.

This hotel has been recently refurbished and is now even better than it was before! It’s our regular spot when visiting nearby family. Excellent extensive breakfast menu.

I visited with 2 friends for our annual catch-up. From the moment we arrived, all staff were warm and friendly. We all had fantastic rooms. Mine was superb - large, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable, with a beautiful Medieval wall painting. The management had literally thought of everything and it is that attention to detail that is so welcome but so often lacking, even in hotels costing triple the price. For instance, there were 2 comfortable chairs to sit in, a TV and a radio , quality coffee-making facilities, a large walk in shower and a separate bath, slippers and a dressing gown. There was even a complimentary tipple! Breakfast was included in the room price and was excellent, with a wide range of choices (brilliant poached eggs!). We also had a lovely meal in the restaurant and enjoyed the bar area in the evening. As well as being an outstanding place to stay, it was also incredibly good value. So many places are charging silly money these days for very basic facilities. As I say, this was probably the best room I’ve stayed in for a very long time. A lot of places could learn a thing or two from the Bel and the Dragon! Totally recommended.

The room we booked "Damson" was very well equipped, spolessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive giving good advice about both food and drink choices. Our only issue was the noise when trying to sleep. This was NOT the fault of the owners. The weather was very nice and customers were understandably making the most of this. Unfortunately our window was directly above a seating area.

Very welcoming staff. Excellent restaurant and the young lady who served us (Indie) certaily knew her wines. We stayed in one of the recently refurbished coach house appartments. I highly recomend this hotel.

Great service from all the staff. Breakfast is fresh and cooked to order plenty of options The restaurant and bar although as little quiet during my stay seemed to have a good atmosphere, open fifes and cosy seating.
