Bed needs replacing as you can see the dip in the mattress. Shower over the bathtub is very inconvenient, especially for those with knee, hip issues, and for short people especially as the handle hold is temporary and moves when you use it. Injuries may result

It is what it is. A motel to sleep for the night, get up the next day and go again. Had to choose between ventilation and noise....open the windows and it was a bit loud. But I guess that shows that most days it would be quiet, just we stayed when it was rare warm NZ summer days. A fan would have been nice though. Ultimately, the motel was fine.

Specious and lovely for an overnight stay!

👍 Like my review! We had an overnight night stay at Fitzherbert Court Motel in Hokitika, New Zealand as part of our journey across the country. We chose this place as a stopover due to the vibrant downtown, nearby beach (including its gorgeous sunset), Hokitika gorge, glow worms, and free parking. The checkin process was very smooth with our assigned room #9 and allocated parking space. The room was clean and spacious, bed and pillows were comfortable, jacuzzi bathtub had a shower, separate toilet room was convenient, the bathroom ventilation fan and towel warmer were nice, internet was optimal, outlets throughout and near the end of the bed were useful for charging, and several amenities (e.g. instant coffee, French press coffee grounds, tea, provided fresh milk, kettle, toaster, cutlery, utensils, cookware, microwave, stovetop, fridge, iron and ironing board) were helpful. The toiletries were simple with a soap bar and hair shampoo conditioner. They also provided an on-site laundromat and continental breakfast for a fee but the luggage hold after checkout was complimentary! There were a few things that could be improved in the room (e.g. loose cabinet screws, missing painting, tears on the curtain) but it did not bother us much because we needed a comfortable place to sleep. For example, the room was far away from the main street allowing some peace and quiet after a long day. Overall, we would be open to staying here again and would recommend it to our friends and family.

The property was clean, beds were comfortable and the manager Karen was friendly and helpful. We had a spa bath which you had to step over the side to get into,which could be difficult for older people. Very close to the glow worm dell.

Wonderfully located right on SH6 only several blocks from the beach (great sunsets) and to town for shopping and meals. Very comfortable room. Noise from toad can be blocked by closing the windows and blinds. Very comfortable place.

Lovely super clean roadside Motel. Only here for 1 night unfortunately but for longer stays excellent facilities and equipment for a bit of self catering. Loved the plunger coffee. A bit noisy as it's adjacent to the major road and it's a 15 minute flat walk to town and eateries. Will definitely stay again for a few nights.
