The small creek running right through the property was very nice. As well as the larger river with a view right from our room.
The property is need of a major refresh. The first building/room that we were assigned smelled very strongly of mold and mildew. Just entering the building you experience a strong smell. That should have been my sign of what was to come. There were portable dehumidifiers and fans running in the hallways of the River Mill building. The pool (not warm if heated) is located in this building but the condition of the building and room was very disappointing. We opened the windows to help with the odors in the room and decided to mention it when we went for dinner at the main building.
Our expectations were high for a nice dinner based on our review of the menu. The experience again was a disappointment with the food appearing and tasting like it was reheated verses cooked fresh.
After dinner we went to the front desk to cancel our breakfast reservation and mention our dissatisfaction with the room. The hostess indicated we should have said something right away about the room and I certainly agreed but I also mentioned that they should not be renting rooms in that condition to a new customer of the resort. They did upgrade us immediately to another room in the other building where the actual spa is located which was definitely a nicer room.
In summary the Inn has certainly lost it's lustre of days gone by.
