Wonderful Stay

Duncan made the difference from an ok stay to a Great Stay! Always available to take care of any need, make your stay a little better and provide lots of ideas about things to do in the area. So accommodating and friendly. The bedding was fabulous, and our group agreed we never had a better night's sleep. We'll be back! Excited to see the improvements.

We were in a room on 2nd floor with no elevator- I’m disabled. The building room was in was separate from main building and it was old and rundown. We had a hard time getting her stuff up the stairway because it was so narrow. We had a hard time getting the door to open because the door or handle it was stuck. The room smelled immediately like old cigarette smoke. there was a long rug that was laying on top of the room rug & each end of the long rug was turned up and wouldn’t lay flat and I was worried about tripping on it and getting hurt. We didn’t even unpack. We went to find something to eat, and when we got back we checked out. The clerk told us that I wouldn’t be able to get my check out information until the next morning. She said that they would call me. She asked me if that was all right with me and I said no not really. She said well it’s not up to me. It’s up to my supervisor and also, she will have to decide whether to charge you the full price or not of the room. It was obvious that they had a very small small amount of people staying there, just by looking at the number of cars that were in the yard. I stayed at this place 22 years ago with a group of other teachers for a four day retreat. The place then was clean. It smells good, the decor was pleasing and appropriate. Now it just seems like an old relic that’s ready to be closed down. It’s so sad because it was a beautiful place. But it was all than 22 years ago but it was still in good shape. Not anymore.

This was a last minute stay and the staff were amazing. The place is beautiful. Lots of renovations being made but that didn’t stop the beauty of the resort from being seen. Although I didn’t bring my children this time, I will in the future. We loved our stay and will stay again.

The townhome layout is pretty good, love the decks, the MBR, overlooking the huge backyard & golf course. Well kept & clean. One Desk staff on duty on 20Aug was very courteous & friendly; the rest are the opposite :( 1) The LR sofa set is very old & smelly. Had to cover it with a bedsheet to be able to sit on it. 2) Shared BR between MBR and the next BR is quite an inconvenience. 3) Water damaged on ceiling of the kitchen where above is the upstairs bathtub.

The property is being renovated. They should move the tennis courts closer to the piool. They should also put down lime on the property and then grass seed to help the property control the weeds. Repave the parking lot.

Don’t let the outside appearance fool you, this is an older resort that is beautiful inside. Rooms are clean and cozy, amenities are excellent, and staff is helpful. Super close to many activities/restaurants. Will absolutely stay here again for a summer vacation!

We stayed for one night at the Stoweflake. The property is currently undergoing renovations which are definitely needed as the property is dated. However, the property was very clean. The hotel has a lot of great amenities including two pools, a squash court, a gym, sauna/steam room, a spa, and a games room. My kids loved both pools and we had them pretty much to ourselves. Continental breakfast was small but the kids were very happy with the choices (cereal, bagels, muffins etc). The room was quiet and comfortable. I am sure once the renovations are complete this will be a lovely hotel. The customer service is also excellent: I left behind one of my belongings and called the hotel for help and they assured me that they are happy to ship the item back to me when it is located (hopefully soon!). The front desk staff walked right up to the room to look for it and called me back promptly rather than waiting until a more convenient time. I appreciate that kind of help!
