The Stoweflake is not what it once was many years ago. The hotel is quite dated. While they are trying to update slowly but surely, the signs are clear. However, the price is quite reasonable when compared to other similar properties, so you can't have your cake and eat it too.
The outdoor pool is not heated and neither is the indoor one (unless it was broken). The shower pressure is non-existent. I didn't even have a lock on my bathroom door. The beds are not the worst I've slept on, but certainly far from the best.
I appreciated the free breakfast, considering how expensive the local eateries are. The rooms were quite big, which is nice for traveling families. They have access to an EV charger on site, but it's paid (unlike most hotels nearby). The gameroom is straight out of The Shining, buried in the basement where children would surely love to spend their time.
Overall, the hotel is quite bland and missing any semblance of life (it literally felt like we were the only family on site) but there is certainly value for the money. The staff were quite friendly.
