This is a 3 Bedroom/3 Bathroom Condo - Sleeps 10 . This condo is on the Bay-side of Pointe West right on the lazy river pool which is heated during the winter.

Pointe West Beach Club
Spend a wonderful day at the pool or beach at the luxurious Pointe West Beach Club. Pointe West offers numerous amenities including, an infinity pool, children’s pool, lazy river (will be heated in the Fall of 2021), fitness center, gift shop, and restaurant. The Resort is independently run and charges $25 per person, (3 years or older) beginning March 1, 2021, year-round. The use of the Beach Club is optional. The access fee is paid by credit card or cash directly to the Beach Club and is not included in rental rates.

The community is easily walkable. Golf Carts are a great way to get around as well. However, golf carts dune buggies or any other types are vehicles are not allowed on Galveston beaches, dunes, or wetlands; this is city law!

Overall it was a good stay. This was the first time for our families to gather at the west end of the island for vacay. The place and location of unit is nice next to lazy river pool area and good bay side views. Our unit had the best patio/balcony furnishings! Have to cart or drive to main club as is a long hike. The store owner at club is supper awesome and makes good items! The not so good was the managing of the condo. They do not keep up with some maintenance items and 3 we’re security and safety hazard issues for renters. Two were addressed, but fire hazard from dryer vent was not that had not been cleaned out and set off alarm. They were informed of all 3 safety issues. Thank goodness that most was ok in condo; however, I don’t know how they “were not aware” of issues as they threaten you to take pics and notify them upon arrival of any issues. Also they apparently can’t follow their own instructions with written requests as documented for late check-out. The cleaning staff is rude and basically so is the management company. I paid money and followed all emails that had been sent. It made for a more stressful experience than necessary. Sad that owner may not be aware of the management company shortcomings. Overall it’s a good value for the money.

Pointe West is Our New Favorite Spot

We loved the condo, especially the privacy of the master suite. Appliances were top notch, the only thing that didn’t work was the ice maker but we purchased ice from a local store. This unit was immaculate and very comfortable.

The location is far from any of the main Galveston attractions and restaurants so that is challenge. However once you are there, it is right next to the lazy river which the kids loved. One of my kids also loved the bunk beds. The place was nice and clean, but it seems the rentals are taken its toll on the place. One of the kitchen cabinets was not closing correctly, the refrigerator door seemed that it could break at any point, the light in the main room will flash every five minutes. The AC in the main room was not designed right. It was hot compared to the other rooms. Also, there is a broken spindle in the balcony which is a safety hazard if you have kids specially being in the third floor. We had to blocked that section to prevent the kids from getting there. Overall, we enjoyed the visit, but it sure can use improvements to make our stay better.

Disappointing and will not rent from Coastal Wave Vacation again.

The property management company Coastal Waves was not forthcoming about the closure of the Pointe West amenities which we depend on. The restaurant and bar were closed and had been closed for months due to freeze damage and they didn’t tell us. The location of pointe west is 20 miles from a major grocery store. The property had no hand soap and post COVID is not acceptable due to safety and health concerns. Short term rentals must supply the basics to guest especially from a safety and health perspective. The information Coastal Waves sent us about the properties parking was inaccurate and inconvenienced us during the trip. The owner parked their ATV in the garage space where we were to park and we were forded to park elsewhere. Coastal Waves emails contained inaccurate information about the property as the band fee required to access the pools and gym increased from 15 to 25 usd and we were not informed ahead of time. The communications from coastal waves for vital information was received too late to cancel our trip. The door code to access the property was not working upon arrival. Checkin was not easy and seamless. There are other property issues like the flickering lights in the master and the thermostat were not able to maintain a comfortable temperature during the stay. Some dishes were unclean and they didn’t provide any dish soap or dishwasher soap for a 4 night stay, 2 pods is not enough when there was no way to wash dishes by hand.

Beautiful Bay Property

The main reason for choosing this condo was its location and the balcony. Overlooks the family pool.

The condo was as advertised. Ample space for my family and me. Pretty much everything that you need was provided. However, the stay was tarnished when we were contacted the day before our checkout and was asked to not use the shower in the main bedroom due to a reported leak from the condo directly below. Of course we honored the request, but it was an inconvenience not being able to use the main shower. Regardless, neither the owner nor Coastal Waves offered any compensation for the inconvenience. Obviously it’s unfortunate that there was a plumbing issue, but that’s part of ownership, and honestly some form of compensation .. anything .. should have been offered without asking or hesitation. Additionally, a pillow was left behind that had sentimental value. I contacted Coastal Waves just hours after the cleaning crew probably left, but somehow the pillow just vanished and again, it just felt like they really weren’t that concerned or anxious to do whatever it took to locate the pillow. It is a shame because with exception to numerous broken/inoperable blinds, the condo really is nice. But when you pay the nightly rate that you do as well as the management and administrative fees on top of that, you expect matters such as these to be taken care of in a much better way.

A Superb Condo & Host

Everything was just as promised. It was a very cozy condo with wonderful coastal touches. We highly recommend this quiet and large 3-bedroom/3-bath. Best location in the resort, overlooking one of the pools and the bay. It has two living areas, great for tucking kids in one part of the house. :-) The host has a collection of games, TVs in every room, a decked out kitchen, complete with seasonings and beach tumblers. Wonderful pathways for jogging, walking and bike rentals. We highly recommend staying here.

Great place for all ages!

We love this location, and this particular condo was really nice with beautiful views of the Gulf and Bay! Th back patio has a really nice, comfortable set up for watching the sunsets. We were just a few minutes from the beach with easy access. (A wagon would be great to haul stuff along the boardwalk.) The pool area was also just outside our building, which made it convenient for grilling. The pool area is really nice for kids and adults. The only issue is the elevators are unreliable, so moving in was a bit of a workout getting everything up to the 3rd floor. Otherwise, everything was really nice. I would definitely rent this unit again.

Perfect for multi-gen, multi-family vacation!

This property is absolutely perfect for our multi-family vacation complete with seniors, adults, teens and toddlers. The management company was great as was the staff of the beach club. They were very responsive and the property was even better than what the pictures and description showed. I cant say enough good about this place. It made for a perfectly magical and affordable vacation!

Beautiful Property, Broken Elevator

First and foremost, the condo was amazing. It was very clean, spacious bedrooms, beautiful balconies and great access to parking and amenities. The only issue we had was with regards to the elevator. The condo is up six flights of stairs and the elevator had been broken for weeks. Normally, this wouldn’t had been an issue, but a member of our party had a disability. We booked this place because it had an elevator noted in its Vrbo description. This issue changed our vacation plans and how we planned our days. The management company had no knowledge of this issue and was unable to help. Keep this in mind when booking. If you’re fine with stairs, book away!
