Most of the staff were amazing although we encountered one person at the Maheno restaurant that was quite rude. The food in that particular restaurant was certainly it worth the money that was charged. We had dinner in the Seabelle restaurant the next night which was absolutely amazing. The food was outstanding and the staff were as well. The general grounds are beautiful and relaxing but the villa we stayed in was in need of updating and maintaining. Overall we had a lovely stay and would return.

The resort is very run down and in need of a refurb. Thee is no air conditioning in the main reception and no fans and it is very hot and humid The food in the restaurant was poor - obviously defrosted and reheated. I did love the island itself and the staff are very nice.

Hotel old food terrible but tour of Island amazing

The hotel itself is very old and needs a renovation. The rooms have been updated and are comfortable. The tour of the island was the highlight and without that it’s not worth going there as hotel facilities are below standard. The tour guide Peter Meyer was amazing and his knowledge and expertise of Fraser Island was top class. The food at hotel was expensive and below standard

It’s a great hotel because of the location but the plastic chairs on the veranda were basic and had cigarette ash on the table The coffee wasn’t replaced so went without on second morning

Best hotel on Fraser

Pros: Look and ambience was great. Many restaurants too choose from, great activities and tours
Cons: 2 Adults and 2 kids per room as standard. Bathrooms and shower curtains could be upgraded.
The fact that only 3 persons are allowed per room per booking for a family with underage kids was absurd. Luckily the hotel staff could assist

Excellent Service with friendly staff

Pros: Service was great and it was very clean as well.
Location: Beautiful lakes, forests, beaches and creeks to explore.
My husband and I went for our Wedding Anniversary and the staff made us feel really special - even writing us a personal card and presenting it to us at dinner. My husband left his wallet in the car back at the Mainland at the secure parking. The staff at Kingfisher Bay reception were wonderful and organised for the wallet to be brought over on the next ferry for us. We also went 4 wheel driving on our last day after we checked out and the staff looked after us with towels and a shower to refresh when we returned at 4pm before getting transferred back on the ferry.
