Rijeka (that’s Croatian) is a port city that’s squished between the Adriatic Sea and the Velebit Mountains. With ornate Austro-Hungarian buildings, unique festivals and the exciting nearby islands to explore, Rijeka is sure to please.
Getting Around Rijeka
Ready to hit the ground running? Jump on one of the dedicated airport-to-Rijeka buses and leave the tarmac—and flights to Rijeka—behind. Taxis are a great option, and so are Wotif’s car hire options. Leave your wheels on the outskirts, though, because in the Korzo part of the city centre, motor traffic is actually banned. Looks like it’s just you, your wits and your own two feet…unless you can find someone to give you a piggyback ride. Use your hitchhiking thumb in a whole new way!

Hitting the ground in the morning? Head to Placa City Market and experience the bustle of two pavilions of vendors and the fresh fish market of this port city.

Entry into building was dark, scary and very run down. Doors into building entryway also lock from the inside which is weird. Apartment itself was clean and nice enough for a quick one night stay, but had an overwhelming marijuana smell as soon as you opened the doors which we did not appreciate. ...
