Getting Around Jakarta

Have you ever heard of an ojek? It’s a motorcycle taxi that’s extremely popular in densely populated countries like Indonesia. Trust us, you’re going to fall in with these two-wheeled beasts…especially when you’re weaving through Jakarta’s notorious traffic. For the 20km drive from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) to Wotif’s hotels in Jakarta, we recommend taking a regular taxicab. Other than that, ojeks are perfect.

When You Land…

The best way to blend in with the locals is to, well, try to blend in with them. Go for a bike ride along the cycle trail in Waduk Pluit Park and then grab a handful of sate. What’s sate? It’s a grilled meat skewer of beef or chicken…or both, if you’re into that. Jakarta holidays aren’t complete without eating sate at least a dozen times.
