Because Tenaya Lodge is a rural location guests should call the hotel if they need additional directions or information on how to get to the hotel. During winter months, chains may be necessary, even for four-wheel-drive vehicles.

Bears inhabit this area. Do not leave food or beverages (including water) in vehicles and heed all other warnings issued by the lodge.

Guests driving to the property should be aware of seasonal road closures. Hwy 120 (Tioga Pass) closes October through late June, restricting east-to-west travel across the park. Yosemite's eastern gate and Tuolumne Meadows are not accessible when Tioga Pass is closed. Guests are advised to check local weather and road conditions/closures with the California Department of Transportation before travel.

Nice resort in middle of wilderness

Nice food options, 3 onsite restaurants and one deli. The barbecue option is pretty good as well. Beds are fairly comfortable and internet works well. The shuttle between the main hotel and cottages and cabins is really nice!

This location is a couple miles outside the park entrance so you do need a reservation to get into the park. I thought it was great for the price, spacious rooms, and we really enjoyed the free amenities like mountain bikes and all the dining options on site.

The room was not ready past check in time and the staff initially was not really apologetic. After we showed our frustration of not being able to go to our room to change (we had early dinner reservations), we were offered complimentary breakfast for the next morning. The rest of the stay was amazing! The hotel has some good activities to enjoy, and it is really pretty, nice and comfortable.

100% recommend Tenaya

My partner and I loved Tenaya. We were on our honeymoon and were on a road trip from Vegas to San Fran, so we stayed in lots of hotels, and we liked Tenaya the best. The room was massive, clean, there was loads of activities to do in the resort and the food options were great.

Lovely resort hotel

Such a lovely resort. We only stayed for 1 night and we wish we had stayed for longer. Lots of facilities. Cottages were very quiet and had a lovely setting. The reception area has chess boards and real fires and has a cosy atmosphere. Very busy but worth a visit.

Tenaya is a great place to stay when touring Yosemite. So close to the entrance and beautiful property with lots of amenities onsite. Property is a little dated but very clean.
