New reviews! Best hotels in Fire Island

I reserved a king-sized bedroom. Upon check in they said they didn't have any left, that my reservation was only "a request"?!!! My 6'5" husband's feet dangled off the bed, and we had to sleep in separate beds! We had nowhere else to go as it was raining, and we had an event to get to shortly after we arrived.
When we returned, we discovered that the television was not hooked up to any network, and we needed more towels. I called the front desk several times from THEIR phone with no answer. I then called the hotel directly from my cell phone and was put on hold for 15-20 minutes. I got dressed to walk down through the awfully smelling hallway (still on hold) to ask the front desk for assistance. Eventually, I was met by the hotel rep. I explained that I was on hold for quite a while, he said I must have dialed the wrong number - my phone clearly read Radisson - Hauppage? Regardless, they did fix the TV and provided fresh towels, it was just unpleasant getting it resolved.
Room was clean, and they had a nice lounge area which we did not use, beds were creaky and we did not have a comfortable sleep due to the incorrect room issue. The snack stand was closed each time we were in the lobby. The staff was less than pleasant.
I would make sure to call ahead to confirm your room type before heading out!
