Fantastic stay aboard Fingal - warm welcome on arrival, beautiful room and amenities with some Scottish favourites of Fudge and Tunnocks in the room. All facilities were great. We had dinner in the Lighthouse restaurant and this was a great experience. Breakfast was a la carte and had a great range of choices for all palates. No rush and the service was second to none. Staff are warm, genuine and friendly - they maintain standards but make you feel at home in a heartbeat. Would definitely recommend a stay on Fingal if you are visiting Edinburgh

I had the pleasure of staying at the Fingal Hotel and it was truly an unforgettable experience. I booked this for my husbands birthday. From the moment we stepped aboard, the attention to detail was evident. The staff were exceptional — friendly, welcoming, and incredibly attentive without being overbearing. They made sure that every aspect of our stay was perfect, offering recommendations for local sights and even helping us arrange some special requests. Overall, Fingal Hotel offers an unforgettable experience that blends history, luxury, and amazing hospitality. My 2nd stay at The Fingal and probably my last. Nothing wrong with service, food or cleanliness, it was all 10/10 but the room I had ordered was an upgraded room but unfortunately due to the fact it was directly below the kitchen my cancer striken partner and I were awake from approx 4.30am with constant footsteps and banging, it absolutely ruined her birthday break away. Spoke to the manager who said he would investigate and reply via email. Sadly that's not going to fix a ruined night. I didn't get the impression he fully understood my issue. Paying over £400 to be woken up at 4.30am was not and ideal for my partners health nor my wallet. I'm sure other rooms would have been fine though to be fair to such a beautiful hotel.

Everything about The Fingal is 5 star luxury including every member of the crew. Special mention must be given to Charlie who greeted me on arrival + shared the history of The Fingal with me, showed me to the bar + stowed my luggage in my room without me having to lift a finger. Charlie also assisted me in thwarting my brother’s attempt to pay for the reservation. I have been very fortunate through my professional life to stay in luxury hotels around the world but The Fingal is the exemplar of all those corporate 5 star hotels. The luxury touches around the cabin made me giggle with delight + the mini bar stock blew my mind. Thank you to everyone at The Fingal, you should be immensely proud of your ship, you professionalism + your welcoming + friendly nature. It is clearly not just a job/pay cheque for you. We had a very lovely and relaxed stay. The staff were attentive and very helpful. The cabin was clean and spacious. The inside of the ship was a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. The ballroom was nicely decorated for a wedding. The food was great too!

The breakfast was table service. Food amazing we had vegetarian breakfast and was not disappointed. Great welcome when we arrived staff were informative and could not do enough for us. The cabin was out of this world. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very good shower and spacious. Overall great experience would highly recommend Fingal and will be back

What an amazing 5* experience! The Fingal was everything I wanted it to be. A surprise overnight stay for my other half for his 70th birthday and it did not dissapoint. We stayed in the Luxury Duplex suite and it was lovey as the pictures on the website. Evening meal was delicious and the best breakfast I've had in a long long time. A short walk to the Royal Britannia yatch which also exceded my expectation which is beside The port of Leith distillery - if you like whisky a great place to visit. Obviously there's a cost involved staying on the Fingal in the Duplex room but for this special occasion worth every penny. Loved it !
