Lovely hotel in the Old Town of Dusseldorf. All amenities (shops, bars, restaurants, etc) within a minutes walk. Only criticism would be the temperature of the room. Even though we’d set the temperature to high to warm the room up, the room was still cold. Apart from that, would recommend and would go back

My wife and I are both allergic to feathers, we advised reception of the allergy. We were given inappropriate pillows that were not for for sleeping (too large - appeared like upholstery cushions). The alternative they provided was a pillow case filed with towels. This is unacceptable for a supposedly 4 star hotel. We emailed the management, ad our email was completely ignored! We had to spend a money to buy pillows for our own. Dreadful service

We stayed two nights, Saturday and Sunday, 6 & 7 December. We took a taxi from the airport, but as we approached the hotel numerous roads were closed for the Christmas markets and after several detours we eventually had to get out and walk about 200m to reach the hotel. Not the hotel’s fault, but they could have easily warned us. We were given Room 144 on the first floor overlooking Andreastrasse, left our bags and went and explored the city. When we returned to the room there was a lot of street noise, but we assumed it would quieten down and went to bed. We were woken at around midnight by the thump of dance music, tried calling reception and received no answer so had to go down to complain. The receptionist acknowledged that noise was a problem at the weekend and offered us another room. So we packed up our disco room and moved to Room 149 which overlooked the courtyard and was much quieter. The hotel clearly knows noise is a problem and should have warned us of this at checkin. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay, the common areas are amazing, filled with all sorts of art, sculptures and antiques. Breakfast isn’t extensive but is high quality as it should be for the price. We didn’t use any of the other facilities. Location is great for the Christmas markets, shopping, dining and bars (which explains the noise) and access to the Rhine and U-bahn.

Beautiful historic hotel, very grand with paintings of historic figures down all the corridors. Staff were efficient, room was spotless and felt very premium. Excellent nights sleep both days. Free beer and water in mini fridge a fabulous added bonus!

So so

I was expecting more from a so called Upscale hotel. The room was ok, the breakfast buffet excellent. But everything else felt like a Best Western. Hotel staff not that friendly, the hotel felt like abandoned. There is simply no life and every night was called to boredness. Thankfully the hotel is located close to good night life around.
