Meh….but you’re paying to stay in the park

Meh….they have you because if you want to stay in Death Valley and not pay a fortune at the INN or not stay in a slump motel this is your only option - not worth what you pay but again you’re paying for the convenience of being in the park and centrally located. Pack and bring food/snacks and then you don’t have to pay for overpriced food on the resort. Ice cream for 2 was $18 - not sure if it’s California that is the rip off or just the resort. FYI - you complete a link which asks your checkout time and we still had housekeeping knocking on our door twice in the morning hours before we stated we would check out.

We stayed in the Casitas which was very nice. The thing I disliked about staying there was I went and tried to charge something in the general store (on the property) and they would not let me (or anyone) charge the purchase to the room ( i did not have my credit card at that moment so could not make the purchase. Nothing major, just a policy that I think should be changed.

For being out in an area that is isolated from a city or town you can enjoy your time seeing many historical sites! We learned many things while staying here for 3 days and 2 nights. The food was better than I thought!

Great property, don't go for the food.

The Ranch, especially the cottages, is very nice. Lovely grounds. The food, however, not so much. The only breakfast option was a $22 buffet that was mediocre. The Saloon dining pretty much the same. We also ate at the only other place there (The Inn at Death Valley) and, once again, the food didn't cut it. Very expensive and not good fare. The general store does offer pre-made salads, sandwiches, etc. Better option. Both properties are great otherwise.

Property is very close to hikes/sites within Death Valley National park. General store has most of the essentials. There is gas next to property and national park visitor center (furness creek) is just down the road. Because of its location within the park, the resort is high volume of visitors—there is general wear and tear you’d expect from high traffic resort.

Decent hotel inside Death Valley National Park. The room was a bit musty upon arrival and the toilet did not function very well, but we were able to air out the room. Easy parking and several restaurant options (all owned by the same company). Small grocery store with prepared foods to take for lunch out in the park. Decent WiFi. Lovely outside area to sit or play, as well as a pool with warm water from underground springs. Kind and helpful staff. We went off season so the restaurants were not too busy, but likely they are crazy in the summer.
