About the home

"Strathallan" is a lovely 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage close to Lovers Lane in Cowes and only a short walk to the beach. Some of the many features of this home are detailed below:

Indoor Areas

The main living area features a large screen TV, reverse cycle split system and an open plan style kitchen and dining room. The kitchen features an electric oven and hot plates. The central bathroom has a shower over a hip bath and a separate toilet.

Outdoor Areas

The front yard is not enclosed, but the rear courtyard and side of the house are. Please note that cars cannot park in the driveway due to construction at the rear of the property, however there is a parking spot at the front of the house (crushed rock) and a carport at the rear that can be used plus parking is available on the street/nature strip.

Kitchen

The fully appointed kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, toaster, kettle, L'Or Nespresso compatible pod coffee machine etc. plus a double sink, fridge, electric oven and cook top.

Heating/Cooling Systems

The living area has a reverse cycle split system and bedroom 1 has a ceiling fan.

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed (some sites add a service fee to these costs) - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Long weekend stay 2022

bbq bottle emptied - we had planned to cook on the for the weekend and could not. Electric stove very basic . Heating very insufficient with remote control very hard to use Run out of toilet paper with only 1.5 roll available for 5 people 3 days Fridge freezer still had food from previous occupant , mess under the bed meant no one had vacuumed ☹️ Couches were dirty. Bathroom amenities were a bit smelly Overall we enjoyed Philip island But accomodation was average , at best.

It was nice to get away.

It would have been helpful if there was a matress for the portacot. If I had know I would have brought my own. My daughter was very unsettled without a mattress. We had to cover the base of the cot with a blanket then a sheet.

Cute house, close to the beach and walk track and Pet Friendly

Really enjoyed our short stay. Close to town, Beach and really was pet friendly. Beds where comfortable and the kitchen had everything you need. It Really was a home away from home.

House is in a great position close to the beach 5 min walk, 20 min walk to the shops

House is in a great position, it would have been great to have had an outside broom to sweep the gravel of the decking to keep this from coming inside and a plastic rake to clean the gravel after the dogs had toileted. As we stayed during COVID19 I did expect the house to be cleaned a little more thoroughly. Overall the house was in a good spot and my family and I enjoyed our stay, it was great to be able to bring our two furry family members.
