The room was filthy. My husband and I checked in and I began our usual hotel routine of wiping down light switches, the counter, toilet, and floors.
But the place was disgusting.
1. I used the hotel soap and put it beside the faucet. When I picked it up again, the bottom side had black and brown smears on it.
2. The wipes used to clean the countertop ended up brown
3. The wet Swiffer floor wipes ended up black
4. I also found a long hair on one of the dingy towels and noticed that the coffee pot had built-up dust all over it
We had to go to meet family, but when we came back, my husband took photos of:
5. The broken vent in the bathroom
6. The hole in the bathroom door that looks like a large rat chewed through it
7. And, the brownish/reddish/orange stains on the bed sheet.
It was late, but we thought it would be worth all the hours to drive back home. My husband said the clerk didn't even seem surprised when he handed in the key and told him we were leaving because the room was dirty. He asked for a refund and was told no. We paid $113 to not sleep with bedbugs.
Yes, it was worth it to drive all the way back home, but it would be nice to get a refund.
