Cottage Next to the Creek in Historic Cascade Canyon At The Foot Of Pikes Peak

This fully restored Victorian cottage with outdoor hot tub is situated on the banks of Cascade Creek in the small mountainous neighborhood of Cascade which is part of the Pikes Peak watershed. Great views of the creek from windows in the sitting area and
views of the mountain ridges from the wrap around porch and the sleeping loft.
The cottage is at the rear of a larger property with a main house and carriage house and is surrounded by old growth forest. The grounds: large trees, flower gardens, and a private creek side mini meadow are yours to enjoy. The cottage has a wrap around porch with chairs and a porch swing to gaze at the gardens and an outside patio next to the creek with table, chairs, and charcoal grill.
The renovated cottage is really a "tiny house"( 500 sq ')with all space efficiently dedicated. There is a small sitting area, a dining area, compact kitchen (fully equipped with microwave, stove, dishwasher, fridge, and washer/dryer), small bathroom with shower, and a light-filled sleeping loft with large windows of the mountains, forest, and night sky. The babbling creek serves as a sleeping tonic.
Several trails are outside the front door-one of which, if taken to its limit, takes you to the summit of Pikes Peak. Wildlife, since Cascade is in the foothills, is common—bears, foxes, raccoons, bobcats, and deer.

Wonderful Location!

My spouse and I spent 5 days here for our anniversary vacation. The area is beautiful, and the location is great. It was nice being close to a lot of tourist options but also outside of the city for some peaceful and relaxing evenings. The flowing creek next to the cabin added so much ambiance. The caretaker happened to be outside when we arrived and Introduced themselves and made sure we knew they were available to assist with anything. We never needed anything and still felt like we had plenty of privacy. We hope to rent this wonderful cabin again in the future.

Pikes peak

The property description and pictures online do not actually show what it looks like the pictures look better than in person. The cabin is very tiny the bedroom is upstairs in a very steep incline or you're going to hit your head if you try to open the windows to ggetair you're going to hit your head extremely hot only one little AC unit downstairs portable the couch you couldn't sleep on because it's not a couch it's one of the older futons. Unfortunately this is not a cabin made for families to stay in or even mid to older couples very misrepresented as far as the description. We walked in looked around said no ways is going to work and we did not even stay we left and ended up staying in Breckenridge.

Adorable little cottage

Only a few minutes from the Pike's Peak road up to the summit, and 15 minutes from Colorado Springs. Very good location with quiet evenings. If you have the windows open you can hear the creek running as you fall asleep.

Tranquil & Tucked Away

We loved the location and layout of this tiny cottage. Falling asleep to the sounds of the babbling brook made for pleasant sleeping. The stairs weren’t as big a challenge as we feared, but could be an issue for some.

Great little place

Stayed for a long weekend. Close to many great attractions in Colorado Springs area, and just a short drive to Manitou. Perfect amount of space for two people. It’s a bit closer to the other buildings than it looks in the listing photos, but it’s a very quiet area and the neighborhood is nicely tucked back into the woods while still being right by the highway to get to where you want to go. There is an amazing view of the mountains through the upstairs skylight and the little stream running just outside gives it a lovely ambiance. We had no issues with our stay, only that we wished the bathroom window had some kind of curtain. If we ever end up in this neck of the woods again we will seriously consider staying here again.

Great little cottage

The property was a bit less private than the pictures suggested but it was still a beautiful little cottage in a scenic area. There are no curtains, just some paper blinds, but they do the job well enough. We didn't end up using the hottub because we couldnt figure out how to open the lid, despite the clear instructions left by the owner. I'm assuming it was locked because there was a bar preventing us from opening it. Or maybe we just overlooked something. From the glimpse we got of it, it looked very clean. The bed was a full and quite comfortable. The porch swing looked cozy but could use a sanding and a new coat of paint. The kitchen was nice and clean, except for the silverware drawer. The bottom of it looked pretty dirty but the silverware looked clean. We just hand washed what we needed to use since we weren't really cooking anything. The floors and bathroom were clean. The shower had good water pressure. The shampoo and conditioner in there made my hair so soft. The owner was lovely. Overall, it was a great stay at a reasonable price. Very satisfied with the experience.

Lovely cottage experience

We absolutely ADORED staying at this cottage. We went for Spring Break and it was perfect. . We enjoyed relaxing at the cottage, eating wonderful food in town, and enjoying the scenery. The location of the cottage is perfect. It's just 10 minutes away from Colorado Springs which was so convenient. The hot tub and shower were amazing. We loved reading by the creek. Perfect Spring Break Getaway

My boyfriend and I spent one of our first trips together at this beautiful little cottage. Perfectly situated outside by a rolling creek, we enjoyed staying in, as well as exploring Colorado Springs. House was clean and had everything we needed. Food, activities and sightseeing are only 10-20 minutes away from the property. Hot tub was incredible and I truly couldn't have asked for a better VRBO! I hope we get to come back someday.

Amazing stay

We had such a great 4 night stay here. Everything was very thoughtfully accommodating and in such perfect location for all the fun activities. Yes, the stairs are steep but we prepared for that and they weren't as hard to trek as I thought. My only recommendation is to be careful when you step in the hot tub. You're stepping directly onto jets. I tore half my big toenail off and didn't find a first aid kit for bandaids.Easy check in and out and lots of privacy! Would definitely stay again!
