We were quite mislead by the pictures and reviews of this place. When we got there it was small and quaint, so we wondered why they they needed a security guard sitting in the lobby (bad feeling one). Apparently the setup of this hotel has rooms inside facing the pool and dining areas and rooms facing outside. We received an outside facing room. We pull up to our room in the far dark corner of the building as some random man watched us the entire time from a sidewalk across the driveway. As we approach our room there is a sign in the window saying keep door closed at all times (bad feeling two) When we entered the room it felt very old and like someone had slapped on some paint to make it feel new. When I turned on the hall light it flickered multiple times like something out of a horror movie. I paced back and forth not wanting to touch anything until my husband could check the beds for bugs. No bugs, but one of my pillows was covered in stains and there were what looked like seeds and burrs under the other bed. At this point, we decided we did not feel safe here and booked elsewhere. At our new hotel, we were talking about our experience and a worker there told us about how Beachside had just been in the news two days prior because someone had forced his way into a room and tried to assault a housekeeper. We were at the hotel a total of maybe 20 minutes and were refused any type of reimbursement despite leaving for safety reasons.

It is not really on the beach. Typical beach hotel. Needs work. Rooms were run down but quiet and mostly comfortable. The pool is nice if you have kids. Left early so did not have breakfast.

Need a hotel for a pre or post cruise stay? This is it. This purposely retro motel is perfect for families looking for something to bookend a cruise. If you are looking for luxury accommodations keep looking, but for value and something different than the typical box hotel to entertain the kids this fits the bill. Built around a lazy river that was always filled with kids, it offers a something for everyone. A sand play area for the little ones, corn hole and other games for the older ones, outdoor movies, a DJ cranking tunes in the late afternoon with an on-site bar and full breakfast buffet made it a destination on its own. Add to that a 5 minute walk to the beach, bicycles, fully stocked beach carts, good dinner spots within easy walking distance and only 15 minute Uber to Port Canaveral. Our room comfortably slept 5. It was clean and staff were great. Highly recommend this motel. And if your lucky not a bad place to watch a rocket launch.
