Hi Brett. I'm sorry you felt this way. I'm a bit confused on the paperwork - you just needed to sign a registration form which would have been pre-completed with any of the details we were provided with at the time of booking, and then a COVID tracing form which is also pre-completed with everything but your contact address (or you could have used the QR code system). The gates are locked late at night, usually after 22.30 or later if we think that some guests are still out. They are opened at 5am so 99% of guests are not usually inconvenienced by this (but are provided with the gate code in case of emergencies). Unfortunately we have to do this as there have been cases of people driving around noisily during the night which not only disturbs guests but is not good for security. Our 'no kids' policy is actually far more popular than you might think and a great deal of our regular (and new) guests come here purely because we don't accommodate children at the moment. In our future development plans there will be family-friendly accommodation but for now we are finding the policy very popular. As for no visitors during COVID we made this decision because we wanted to only have people here who needed to be here so as to minimise risks to guests and staff. It is a policy which will be relaxed shortly now that things have settled down. Sorry you didn't have a more positive experience but I can't see that you were personally affected by any of our rules and regulations which, after all, are put in place with guests and staff in mind. As for paperwork I think its unreasonable to think that two signatures and a contact address is anything much to complain about. You would probably have to do more than that any another hotel.
