Upon arrival no comfort was given to assure us despite the police presence it was a safe property & not a very warm welcome. The lobby and stairs were DIRTY. Elevator out of service so had to lug suitcases upstairs (extremely dirty). The halls stank of a combo of paint and mildew. Entered the "newly renovated" room to mold and water damage that was attempted to be painted over. Nice that there was no carpet, made it feel cleaner but due to the rest of buildings condition I was checking for bed bugs. No headboard which was weird. Bathroom was all flaking paint , piss stained toilet seat it was all just gross. The heating and cooling wasn't working properly - woke up to a smoking hot room (went to bed with air conditioning) in middle of night. Breakfast was mediocre but again with such a dirty building to walk through to the basement appetite was already lost. I've stayed in 3 star or lower places before but this was barely one star . Would never stay here again & it shouldn't be offered on travel sites.

Disappointed

On paper this place has a lot of pluses. It says renovated rooms, coin laundry and it includes parking, which for a downtown location is a bonus. Well it did have a great parking lot but that’s about the only plus at this Inn. Our visit started rough with a less than friendly front desk staff. We arrive to our room to be greeted by a very stained and wet looking carpet in the hallway. We enter the room and are welcomed by a wet dog type of smell. We are feeling a little concerned at this point but are hungry from travel, so go for dinner. When we return from dinner we need to wash a shirt in the sink, so we plug it and wash it. Well the sink plunger would not come up, so we called maintenance who arrived with a plunger. A plunger I very much hope is reserved for sinks because this is the same sink I needed to brush my teeth in afterwards. This felt like the last straw; wet carpet, odd smell and a plunged sink. We called the front desk and asked if we could switch rooms but they basically said, “we don’t have a better option”. So we settle in and my daughter has a shower. We notice the floor at the end of the bed is wet afterwards. We assume from her walking around wet?? We got to sleep. Also note that in the night she puts a towel across the door to block the hallway light. The next morning I shower and now the floor at the end of the bed is soaked. Water is coming through the floor, the towel at the door is also soaked. Hence the wet carpet in the hall. I can’t write more

Don’t stay here

Room was dirty, sloppy renovations, broken floors, dirty bedsheets, stained towels, no duvet cover, smelly room, shampoo and body wash were the exact same liquid, underground tunnel to second building was scary and unfinished with signs that stated “enter at your own risk”, pool was disgusting, cloudy water where you couldn’t even see your own body under the water. Would not return and would not recommend. Finish your Reno’s before allowing guests into these unfinished, borderline unsafe buildings and rooms.

Very convenient for walking in the downtown and waterfront area and Confederation Center. Property is in the process of being renovated. I believe once this is complete this property will be great. Staff were very polite.

To check in the luggage cart path was long and difficult to get in the door. Their was construction going on and paint odors making it difficult to sleep. Their was a window unit with no curtains above the unit and the room hotel was outdated and left an uneasy unsafe feeling. A shadow or cloud left to trip that took 12 hrs. of travel to PEI that was a nice town.

The property is a nice location downtown, and grant you access to a lot of different things within walking distance. But the property itself had a lot to be desired. The plumbing is subpar, the rooms are old and at a date, the carpet is dirty, and the breakfast options were limited to muffins and waffles.

Convenient to downtown, friendly staff, the room was in the new part but they still have a lot of Reno’s to do. While the room was clean and redone, you could still smell smoke in the bathroom and the hallways were very outdated and Ned to be recarpeted and made more modern. Breakfast was gross, my husband cracked open three hard boiled eggs and they were gray. We couldn’t eat the food. All staff were very friendly. We used the gym who j was great, but didn’t use the pool, but saw kids in it playing.

AVOID booking at this dive and pay the same price to stay at a cleaner, modern kept hotel! I wish I had read reviews before I booked and been able to attach pictures I took. Of all the hotels we've stayed in 30 yrs this was the worst @ a price of $269 per night. Our best was in Whistler BC at a price less than this! Our room was across the street near a main entrance. It's very outdated run down hotel, stained carpets in hallways outside our room. Standard sized pillows on Queen beds and disgustingly stained pillow underneath old pillow cases. Bedding was less than appealing. Thankfully no bugs! Paint peeling off areas in bathroom, lampshade bubbling and cracked. Our first night was very noisy slamming of doors. Went on search for ice machine found one on 3rd floor it dispenced about 6 tiny pieces of ice. Found another on 2nd floor was able to get a cup of ice. Washer and dryers had signs on them out of service. When you get to the tunnel leading to main building and look up you see wires hanging out of ceiling, caution sign saying proceed at own risk! The guy at front desk was very dishonest when I asked about a hold on my CC he assured me there would be in his words " since you not paying cash or with debit there will be no holds on CC. Of course when I came home from my trip I discovered it was charged on July 11th first night and it is still on my CC 10 days later!

I wouldn’t recommend staying at the Charlottetown Inn and Conference Centre. They seem to be cutting corners everywhere and have little concept of customer service. The after hours entry door at the front of the building was not working - rather than repairing it they suggested we use the door at the back of the property, which didn’t feel safe. Our room was not serviced at all during our first two days. On the third day, after we made a firm request for cleaning, the room was serviced but they left us with no towels. I suggest finding somewhere else to stay. This property has the feel of a budget property without the budget price.

Wait for the renovation! The property is old and run down. The curtains were ripped, the carpet was ripped and stained. I planned on staying for two nights but left after the first night. They are currently remodeling - maybe it will be better soon!
