Another great set of gardens can be found at the Dong Po Park, which was named in honour of Su Dong Po, a famous local artist. No trip to Changzhou is complete without a visit to the Tianning Temple, a declaration to Chinese Chan Buddhism. Featuring a massive wooden pagoda, the Tianning Temple is 13 storeys high and is the tallest pagoda in the world - as well as the highest wooden structure in the world. The rooftops are decorated with gold, brass, jade and bronze. All of these combine to make it a must see attraction in Changzhou. Stop in at the Song Dynasty Pillars and explore the remains of an ancient temple that dates back to AD979.
