The Old Schoolhouse is a beautifully restored former village school in the peaceful village of Penrhos, Monmouthshire. Combining original features with modern comforts, it offers a spacious and comfortable base for families and groups looking to explore the Welsh borders and Wye Valley.
The spacious living room is the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring, with plenty of seating and a pool table for family evenings in. The separate dining room provides a welcoming setting for everything from celebratory meals to leisurely breakfasts. At the heart of the home is a fully equipped kitchen with everything needed for a self-catered stay, while a separate boot and utility room offers practical facilities including a washing machine, spin dryer, iron, ironing board and clothes airer. The former library has been transformed into a cosy snug and cinema room, providing an additional space to unwind. A downstairs cloakroom completes the ground floor.
Outside, the patio area is ideal for al fresco dining and features a gas barbecue for enjoying meals in the fresh air. A standout feature of The Old Schoolhouse is its private outdoor swimming pool, available from 1st April to 30th September, offering a wonderful place to relax and make the most of the warmer months. Please note the pool is not heated.
All four bedrooms are located on the first floor, providing flexible accommodation for families and groups. The master bedroom features an Emperor sized-bed and an ensuite with a walk-in shower, toilet and vanity unit. The remaining three bedrooms can each be arranged as either super king-size beds or twin beds upon request before your arrival. Unless we receive an alternative request from you, the super king bed will be made up in its standard configuration. A family bathroom on the first floor includes a bath with an overhead shower, toilet and vanity unit.
The Old Schoolhouse is ideally located for exploring Monmouthshire and the Wye Valley. Spend a day in the market town of Monmouth, with its independent shops, cafés and historic landmarks, or discover the stunning scenery of the Wye Valley, known for its riverside walks and picturesque villages.
