Room was adequate double bed was very small and was not very well made as quilt was not in cover properly. Very tight in terms of tea, coffee and milk only enough for 2 cups per person !!! Breakfast choice was good. Loved that you could ask for eggs of you must stop being a nutty your choice, i.e. poached fried et cetera and they were freshly cooked.

We are regular visitors to the clayon hotel and always enjoy our vist, but have to say we were very dissapointed this time around. Firstly 20 minutes late checking in which we understood as things can get busy. The next morning however we were woken by 8am with a staff member entering the room, then a phone call 10 minutes later we were woken again by the reception phoning asking to confirm our booking at which point we decided we may aswell just get up and crack on with the day. Then the next day we asked to leave our cases to which we were told it wasn't possible due to current work taking place, which would be understandable if i hadn't rung to check before hand that it would be possible to leave our luggage after checkout. This then meant we had to cancel our last day of plans as we couldn't take our luggage in the places we were meant to visit. We also had the staff members outside our door talking and laughing for close to an hour from 8am on the second morning which again woke us earlier than attended. It was a very dissapointing visit for somewhere which was a firm favourite of ours while visiting cardiff.

Staff at reception were very helpful when the on line check in facility failed to work. The room was comfortable and quiet but some of the public areas seemed to be understaffed and a bit unkempt…but it was a very wet and busy weekend in Cardiff
