We had a shaky start to our vacation due to missing luggage, a very late check-in, and the rooms we booked not being available. However, Ricardo and Alan went above and beyond to make sure our luggage was picked up and we had great rooms! Love them! Would definitely stay here again!

incredibly old hotel room - the carpeting definitely needs changing, there was only 1 usable power outlet, the shower drained very slowly and the AC unit made ruckus. the breakfast buffet was good, it's located next to lots of restaurants and the staff was friendly and polite.

Our new favourite hotel in Cape Town

We have stayed at the V and A waterfront before and the Commodore combines great location, great value for money, nice spacious rooms (junior suite), good food and in depth quality of staff. The hotel is a safe, level 5 minute walk from the V and A waterfront. They not only managed to get us checked in before the official time, but front desk, bell staff, cleaning staff particularly were well above average. When we checked in the staff were a little apologetic that some guests find the themed decor dated and old fashioned. This is nonsense. If it is clean, well maintained and tasteful it is not a negative it is a positive. The Commodore hotel has character! We will be back next year.
