Situated in an architect designed and certified Passivhaus building in a quiet residential road, this contemporary apartment is just a short walk from Canterbury city centre. Built with sustainable materials and super-insulated and airtight, the Haus Apartment is ventilated and heated with a MVHR system (mechanical ventilation and heat recovery) which provides constant filtered fresh air and an even temperature. Solar thermal and photovoltaic panels on the roof heat hot water and generate electricity, enabling high levels of comfort with very low energy use.
The apartment is at garden level on the upper ground floor, above the owner’s architect’s studio on the lower ground floor. With a high, angled ceiling adding to its spacious feel, the bright and airy open plan and social living space has been finished in a minimalist, yet comfortable style. All windows and doors are triple-glazed, with external electrically-operated blinds.
The accommodation comprises: a kitchen with electric oven/integral microwave and induction hob, dishwasher, fridge with freezer box and a coffee machine; there is a dining area with seating for four people and a sitting area with sofa, armchair, and flat screen TV. A spiral staircase leads to a mezzanine gallery, with futon (which can be made up if required with an ADDITIONAL FEE applicable) and beanbag seating. The master bedroom has a king size bed with overhead bedside lights and a built-in wardrobe; there is access to a small balcony and an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, WC and washbasin.
