Excellent location right in the centre of Buxton. We were attending a concert in Opera House which is about 200 yards away from the venue. There were several excellent bars and restaurants within close proximity. Room was clean and functional with decent breakfast in the morning. Would stay again if visiting the area.

One of the most important things when staying anywhere is a comfortable nights sleep. We found the bed one of the most comfortable we have slept in for some time. The cleanliness of the room was okay and the staff very attentive and courteous. Would have given it 5 stars, had it not been for a slightly warm breakfast and problems with the lift not being used correctly. No good when you have mobility problems. Would still return, as it is in an excellent position for the theatre and like the character/charm of the hotel.

Breakfast was excellent We were in a accessible room but I was unable to get into the shower as there was a step up into it The hotel is very old but does have a lift which is possibly 40” square, it is extremely tight, I only just got in it by taking my footplates and handles off

Staff team were lovely, very attentive, couldn’t have done anymore for us. However, the room was a little cold and could have done with the water being hotter in the shower.

Hotel was nice and clean with exceptional staff. The hotel itself could do with some updating and the lift had a habit of not working if not closed properly. We did report this to the staff. Perfect location close to everything in Buxton.

Truly a disappointment from start to finish. I had booked a family room which was advertised as being one king bed with a single bed. No mention was made of the single bed being a bed settee and on the pictures, the bed is made up next to the king bed. On checking the room I saw the king bed and no other bed, so I went back downstairs and explained I’d booked a family room. The receptionist said the bed settee needed making up and she’d get someone to do it. We went upstairs, put our things away and came back down to be greeted by a woman I now know as the duty manager called Catrina. With no apology, no asking if it was ok ~ she announced “I’m going to split the king into a twin as the bed settee isn’t the best” I said “I’m sorry but I booked a family room for a reason as I can’t sleep in a twin bed (I have a health condition but didn’t feel she needed to know this as I had booked for and paid for a family room). She then addressed by 12 year old son and said “you won’t be comfy on the bed settee” I again said “can we see how we go please because I booked a family room expecting all the beds would be useable” She begrudgingly said “ok fine” We left to go for tea and when we came back the bed settee was set up. It was absolutely shocking. The springs are completely bare and there is no cushioning to it at all. At this point my son (who is autistic) was getting upset and said he wanted to try to sleep on it as he didn’t want to upset the lady again. Cont
