Wake up to beautiful mountain views and the sound of a stream outside your window or beautiful drifts of untouched snow. After a day of skiing or hiking, enjoy our fabulous Jacuzzi hot tub or fire up one of several fire options while watching the sunset. Activities are numerous in both summer and winter and include world class skiing/snow boarding, cross country skiing, mountain biking, rafting and hiking right outside the door or just minutes down the road.

Our cottage is equipped with everything you might need to prepare a quick snack or a gourmet meal. Nice glassware, dishes, linen, cooking tools and serving pieces allow you to enjoy this get-away as much as you would your own home. There is also a Weber charcoal grill and a gas grill on the expansive deck that wraps the back of the house. With 2 fireplaces and a pleasing decor, get ready to relax and smile a lot. It is truly a special place.

The property was exactly as expected, a perfect little mountain getaway. The hosts were super welcoming and gracious. Highly recommend La Barranca. It’s in a quiet neighborhood, but still private enough to feel secluded. Not far from Breck in case you want to venture into town. Great stay, worth a visit!

The property was in an upscale neighborhood inan excellent location, close to Breckenridge, Frisco, Dillon, Keystone and Copper Mountain. There was great hiking accessible across the street,and lots to do in the area. The property was very clean and well appointed,and had all the comforts of home- a modern and well stockedkitchen, very comfortable living area with lots of light from all of the windows overlooking the deck. The large screen TV was a bonus withaccess to great streaming channels. A wonderful jacuzzi hot tub complete with comfy robes, a large wrap around deck with nice dining table and adirondack chairs facing the mountains was the icing on the cake. Hearing the mountain stream cascading over the rocks at the back of the property was so relaxing. The forested setting added to the serenity and privacy of the property. The hosts were very accommodating and ready to assist if needed. This will be our go to destination vacation rental every time we return to the area.

Mountain retreat

We had a great stay in Blue River. The view from the balcony was fabulous and peaceful! House was very well equipped. Easy drive to Breck with lots of hikes, waterfalls, lakes and great food!

Private, quiet and beautiful views!

We enjoyed our stay and were very happy with the layout of the house. PROs:- beautiful mountain home- quiet and privateCONs:- getting out of the driveway was challenging with an AWD SUV after snowplows cleared the road following a 4" snow. - Discovered there was no body wash or dishwasher soap once we used shower and dishwasher for the first time. - Ask for the house rules prior to your stay. We had to leave the property by 6am to catch flight at DIA and were instructed to have all towels and bedding washed and dried. Given the TOD, we were advised to use the speed wash which takes 15 minutes, something my minor germophobe tendencies doesn't embrace as a new guest.

High Altitude Getaway

It was very cozy little house and in a beautiful mountain neighborhood setting. Home was spotless and very well kept and supplied and was so much better than a hotel! I didn't realize how high up the home and town were! So if you aren't in good physical shape or have breathing issues I wouldn't suggest renting there. It was only 12 minutes to town so close enough to do a few times a day. Got to watch My Eagles Win their 2nd Superbowl there and was great starting at 430pm vs. 630pm back home. Highly recommend this home and love to see in summer! Owner was very helpful when ever needed.

Great place

Everything was clean and the place was spectacular. We did have an awd vehicle and had to be pulled out of the drive way by a tow truck since we couldn’t get up the hill but that could be due to a rental car not having the best tires. But the host was very accommodating with a recommendation of who to call and very helpful. Would stay there again without a doubt.

Lovely Escape

We had a great stay at this cozy, charming little home! It is nestled in a pine forest in the mountains just south of Breckenridge, which gave us an opportunity to enjoy the busy town when we chose to, while also feeling like we had a true mountain escape in the wilderness! The views of mountains and a babbling brook from the wrap around deck are amazing and the hot tub is roomy and pristine! The kitchen is well stocked and larger for this size of home. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever experienced in a rental, complete with quality linens. Great hiking and gorgeous sight-seeing all around the area. Owner was helpful and easy to communicate with. We would stay here again.

Amazing stay!

We enjoyed every bit of our stay, and this was the perfect home base. It was easy to get into town for dinner, but also easy to escape for adventures. The neighborhood as a whole was quiet and relaxing. A great escape from ‘normal’ life.

Great little place! We stayed in March and went snowboarding, it was absolutely beautiful. Tons of snow! The driveway is a little steep so make sure you have a vehicle that can handle ice/snow!

Great location for remote activities.

Quiet neighborhood and beautiful view. Seemed to be so remote but actually very close and convenient to Breck and all that goes on there. We back country skied and snowshoed in the valley. This is the perfect location to get to Quandary Park and Hoosier Pass.

Picturesque views

Location was perfect for our summer getaway, easy access to hiking trails & town (when needed). Full of amenities for cooking/grilling. Loved sitting out on the deck in the evenings with the fire pit star gazing & listening to the mountain stream. Beautiful setting, exactly what we were looking for in our vacation rental! Wonderful cabin with a view

This was a wonderful cabin slightly off the beaten path, in a quiet neighborhood. The deck was fantastic along with the views. We were there in late June and the stream off the deck was more like a creek with all the runoff. It was great listening to it. We liked that it's very updated. The kitchen had everything you could want and more. The living room had beautiful views. And the owners were prompt in communicating which we always appreciate. The only negative was that the two couches were hard and uncomfortable. I realize that this is just one couple's opinion, but it seems like some softer cozier furniture would make a big difference. We would stay here again though.

We absolutely loved our stay. The location was perfect, not too far from town and the lifts. Quite neighborhood and visits from the local Moose and fox were a real treat! Dawn is very responsive and accommodating! Highly recommend this location.

Beautiful setting

The house was all done up, inside and out, for Christmas. Really made it festive for us. This was the best equipped property we have ever stayed in. We were able to cook a full prime rib dinner with all the fixings. Beautiful place to walk at night, the sky was so clear and full of stars. Wish the part about needing 4 wheel drive in winter was more upfront on the listing.

Great Location, Easy Access, Perfect for the Price

Our family of 4 really enjoyed our 10 day stay! The house is small-ish but well laid out, and has everything you could want. Great value for the money! The deck with hot tub was awesome for soaking and/or admiring the views of lower Hoosier Pass. Internet was strong, location nicely spaced between Alma and Breck and less than a mile off the highway, excellent kitchen for cooking. Words of caution for future guests (but not complaints): the site is built down into a hill and is not flat, so not great for those with mobility problems. If you're traveling with dogs there were not great options for runs...be prepared for walks, but you'll enjoy them. This house has been smoked in, probably many, many years ago, something you may not even notice...if you're uber-sensitive to that, just be aware. Personally, we had zero complaints!

Secluded Perfection

Our stay at La Barranca was excellent!! It was the perfect size for our family of three, well equipped and in a fantastic location. Dawn was lovely to work with and it was so nice to be able to travel with our dogs! We ended up leaving one day early, and all of us were sad to go. We will absolutely be back!!
