The property is a very tired venue and desperately needs a refresh including the spa and sauna isn’t clean. There’s no air con in the rooms and despite having a fan it was too warm to sleep… lots of potential for the hotel if invested in! Beds comfy, bath towels good and breakfast ok - a additional coffee machine is needed

Ufford Park

The hotel needed a lot of updating. Reception area very unfriendly and uninviting. Carpet in our room had patches missing. Sheets, towels and bedding were clean but everything looked dated. Food was nice has large portions. Area outside restaurant needed a good clean as not nice to sit outside with full bins and rubbish on the floor. Spa area looked good but swimming pool changing area needed a good clean as a lot of hair on the floor. Convenient for out stay but wouldn’t stay here again or recommend with it looking like it currently does. Disappointed.

First impression off road not inspiring with rather shoddy entrance and no one manning the desk on arrival. Soon returned and was very helpful. Restaurant perhaps could be better staffed with obvious manager to control - we felt non visitors to the hotel could arrive for breakfast without anyone knowing!! Otherwise breakfast perfectly OK.

We stayed as had an activity booked close by. The only good thing is the location. The hotel is dated, rooms and spa dirty (mould everywhere - windows, bathroom etc) and no amenities (limescaled kettle and two sachets of Kenco in room). We went to breakfast and left just having a coffee due to it being so poor. Would not recommend unless you play golf.

Certainly not a 4* hotel, I would give it a miss.

Firstly, the pictures on the advertisement certainly do not look like the hotel itself, a very very outdated version. Carpets were stained and very untidy. Room smelt like tcp (antiseptic). The soap that supposed to smell like lemongrass but it smelt like a bin. Bed was uncomfortable, and the rooms were very hot. An additional fan was provided, particularly dusty, which then made the room smell like old dusty and foist. Unsure what’s worse. Breakfast was fine, staff at breakfast were rude and unhelpful. The tables were sticky and unclean and the corridors were a mess with how untidy the carpet was. Certainly not a 4* hotel. The cleanest part was the gym equipment. Changing rooms were disgusting and so was the steam room was so unpleasant and dirty, full of old limescale.

All good except !

Nice room very clean staff pleasant but bar area in need of a bit of love snd attention. Breakfast very good but placement of things s bit odd. Why is the butter with the fresh fruit section and not by the toaster and bread and jams !? Also tea making area very congested and when busy you have to wait a very long time to access the hot water/ coffee machine.

The hotel was nice and tidy, however, we tried to get access to the room early and was advised that it may be possible, on arrival it wss clear that we could not have early access. I also used the messaging system, where the operator addressed me by mu surname, and when corrected, did not offer an apology

Disappointed there was no aircon, a fan was provided. Bar service very slow, bar coffee machine was being cleaned on our first night and told it was broken on our last day. Breakfast was poor, items were not replaced when low, people had to ask for items when they run out, only one machine for coffee and hot water for tea, often run out of milk, long queues. Tables not cleared quickly and people were clearing them and finding their own cutlery. Cups and glasses running out. Door card stopped working at 11:00 on the day we left even though we paid for a late check out at 14:00

OK accommodation. Didn’t appreciate the litigious attitude of staff: being told ‘it states clearly on your terms and conditions that rooms are not available until after 3’ and ‘no, the restaurant isn’t serving food’ (at 9.35, we’d just got in after a long day, and subsequently found the small print announcing that it ceased at 9.30) doesn’t make it a great experience.
