Great Hotel

Great location close to railway station. Staff all really helpful but reception was slow with there always being a queue. Only issue I had was with noisy guests returning from a night out and shouting at each other in the car park.

Comfortable bed, quiet during the night and helpful staff. Nice bar/lounge area. The coffee served at breakfast was so weak I didn't drink it and one of the mugs in the room was a bit dirty. Despite that, I'd stay there again.

Fourth time i have stopped at this hotel and all good, and will stop again. 5 mins into town centre, 3 mins to the train station and 10 mins to Portman Road. Bar is well stocked, only thing is car park is small so be prepared to park somewhere else if arriving late.

The bathroom floods when the shower is used as the water wasn’t draining quickly enough and the floor was level with no lip to stop the water. The freight trains are loud through the night but worse were the other guests slamming doors and raised voices in the corridors. Corridors could do with a paint as they were badly bashed making it look tatty. The breakfast however was good for £10 and the room was clean with good linens and towels.

Great hotel with amazing breakfast

Great location very near the station, not far from the town centre and close to the football ground. Big hotel, welcoming friendly staff. Nice room. Spacious and clean. Very nice bathroom. The bed was fairly comfortable, not great but above average, not too bad. Amazing continental breakfast. Overall, decent value.

My experience here was very mixed as it began horrendous but picked up towards the end. We begin at 2pm which was the check in time at the hotel and what they list is the check in time on the website, to note we was also not able to park in the car park as the they had decided to allow two coaches to park in there and stopped any other cars being allowed to use the car park. We get to the check in desk to which they say we are not able to check in 6:30pm! What hotel has a 6:30pm check in time, they refused to allow anyone in the hotel for the day till 6:30pm, I’m not sure how on earth a hotel could have a day like this however I feel how all the people were treated before check in was absurd,making people wait outside till the late check in time they have now made up. We eventually come back after paying for extortionate parking elsewhere to be able to check in. I say the day got better as the football was on downstairs in the lobby and the rooms seemed fine, however the noise of a train station kept us up till 11:30pm.
