The mediocre rating is due to the size of the room. It was a little box with barely room to get around the twin beds. It was an “airport overnight “ with a friend, so it sufficed. Access to the second floor was via a rather scary circular staircase We felt it was unsafe. As exclusive English speakers ( not proud of that), we were unable to read the gate notice if one existed. The lobby is not staffed 24/7. We left our hotel key in the room and attempted to leave. However, you need your room key to use the gate. The number posted on the lobby door did not answer either a direct call or a text attempt. We were stuck!!! Luckily, an employee arrived and opened the gate for us. Merci beaucoup to him. All that said, the staff were lovely, the room clean and the beds comfy. Excellent essentials.

The room needed a complete overall. The beds were very uncomfortable. The bath had a large chip in the base and was too high to climb into to access the shower.

The doorknob was broken making access to the room challenging. The room had only one plug available for charging that was not in the bathroom. Only two bath towels in the room. No hands towels. No hair dryer.

Disappointing

The property is overpriced for what it is, even within the highly priced Bordeaux area. It is convenient to the airport and the tram into the city is within a walkable distance ... less than 2 km. However, the room was unattractive, totally basic, small - old style motel. We’d booked and paid for a triple single room to have more space but were allocated a twin ... massive building project next door and new tram line being built in front didn’t add to its appeal. There was a mosquito problem in the room, plug in provided showed that the problem was known but solution ineffective.

When we booked this hotel we booked a a three twin bed room. When we checked in we were informed that one of the beds was a camp bed that we had to assemble.

Standard Campanile hotel but the staff were very pleasant and helpful. There was a leak in the roof of my room which I hope was an isolated event. The trams construction is under way on the road so be aware they may be diversions for your journey. I would come back if the same staff were there ..

Great stay!!

Reception staff and room attendants were really friendly. We were given a room facing the parking. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend the breakfast and lunch at the hotel. Very well priced and food is amazing. Well done to the chef.

Clean comfy but basic

We stopped over on route, the hotel staff were friendly the room was clean comfy but basic. Hotel has secure gate for night time. We ate in resturant on 1st stop over and was disappointed the steak I had was of poor quality chewy so I sent it back they came back with another (not really just cooked my original to death) which because I was hungry after 13 hours driving ate it but I should have refused it. So on second stop over we ate out. This would not put me off stopping there just not eat there.

Good for access to A10

It's close proximity to the outer ring road round Bordeaux makes it a good overnighter. Two floor wooden chalet type building very old and tired but plenty of off road parking and room was clean, bathroom good and bed comfy. Tea/coffee making in room and restaurant in main building for breakfast and dinner. Excellant value for basic accommodation.

Campanile in NW Bordeaux, just off the Rocade. Typical Campanile , so fairly basic, but staff friendly & food pretty good. Fine for an Overnight stop.
