The staff at The Doric are fabulous, so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble, a real asset.

We arrived at the property on 27th December 2024 to check in at 3pm. We were told we had been allocated a room on the 4th floor. (When booked I asked for low floor, as I am disabled and struggle with stairs). After some time we were moved to the second floor. The lifts were temperamental, which made getting to the second floor uncomfortable for me using the stairs. We found the dining room seating poor as we were allocated what I can only describe as a POSTAGE STAMP TABLE, really only fit for 1 diner. Meal portions were small, and we found it astonishing that our side dishes were miniscule for 2 adults. If we had both been single diners we would have got a portion each. The bedroom central heating failed on our first nights stay. We asked for a mobile heater but were told non were available, however speaking to other guests they had been given heaters when requested. The evening entertainment for both nights stay was mediocre to say the least. Overall not a great experience.

We stayed from the 24th / 27 December it was lovely because we didn’t have to cook anything this year lol we had a very relaxed Christmas this year can’t believe we had never done it before the hotel was lovely and staff were very friendly and helpful food was very good and piping hot

Staff excellent. Food good. Why Entertainment for children and adults was a bonus. Swimming pool clean and warm. Lifts to higher floors are 2 person only. Parking is very limited but we'll managed.
