5 star comfort if you fix the pillows and slippers

One of the best maintained old hotels in Beijing, New Otani has been consistently well maintained the 2 times I have stayed here. The price so far has been fair and the hotel is of a 4 Star standard or imagine an older 5 star hotel. The rooms are very clean and the hotel in general has been upkept very well. I do have a complaint about the pillows as they are too high! I am nitpicking here but the room slippers are very poor quality too.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. There were some issues with checking out. We did use only small bottle of water and there was a small sign on the bottle, which stated it cost 20 yuan. When we checked out, a receptionist charged us 50 yuan and when we tried to point out their mistakes, they didn't understand us. Also, the hotel will not use American express card, so be aware of it, although our booking confirmation stated that we could pay with Amex.

The hotel room was cozy. The subway station is very near. The air conditions in the room was good. not too cold not too hot. just nice. The hotel staff very helpful. They will help you to use the apps to call for cab as we are unable to get one on our own. Highly recommended to stay at this hotel.

I was on a biz trip, location and facility are all fine but pretty disappointed at the breakfast service. I paid RMB150 to have breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant and since I was in a hurry that morning so I asked if I can have coffee in a take away cup. The answer was that I have to pay additional RMB38.

Stayed a couple of days before cruise, complained about room been to warm. They sent up a fan which helped. Other then that the service was great. Location not bad. Hotel is on older side but we’ll kept. They had actually upgraded us to executive suite.
