I’ve have stayed at this hotel several times in the past. It used to be very good. 7 years after my last stay I am disappointed with the lack of maintenance in the rooms. I got a junior suite, 2 bathrooms and 2 rooms. There was a sewer-like smell in the rooms and several plumbing issues. The sink was clogged, the toilets did not flush properly, and there was visible mold or humidity on the walls. On the first night, there was a strong plumbing or sewer odor, to the point that I had to open the bathroom windows to ventilate the space. Overall, I found the rooms to be quite neglected in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. I understand that the hotel is old and that renovations have been made over time; however, the most important aspects are room and bathroom cleanliness, and unfortunately, this fell short during my stay.

We leave with a very negative impression of the hotel. People would say, "it's one of the best hotels in Barranquilla" but the truth is, that it's one of the worst we've ever stayed at. The staff were not friendly. You could tell they were not enjoying their job and if you work in hospitality, you should at least like people and enjoy the environment you are in. The staff never smiled, when you asked a question they looked at you with impatience. The key to our room never worked, not once, throughout our stay, and whenever I complained, the front desk was not very nice. The hotel does not have amenities, no spa, no real restaurant, and the restaurant on the top floor, only opens twice a week. Overall disappointing experience and stay.

La habitación, puntualmente la 1606 cuenta con elementos muy deteriorados. Manchas de humedad en las puertas de madera principal y de armario, el plástico del televisor (el marco) está partido, la cortina de la ducha rasgada, la regadera tiene los que parece hongo, los tomas eléctricos están levantados o desprendidos de la pared, la funda de una de las almohadas tiene motas que reflejan exceso de uso, hay polvo dentro del armario. La calidad del colchón es regular. La cortina tipo blackout a pesar de que es eléctrica estaba descarrilada. Yo mismo tuve que ajustarla. El mueble que sostiene la nevera tiene la lámina levantada o partida exponiendo el aserrín prensado. El soporte del papel higiénico (donde va sostenido) se ve sucio o manchado. El restaurante es limpio y la calidad de los alimentos es buena, sin embargo la infraestructura y decoración luce anticuada. Sugerencia: los contenedores de alimentos tipo bandeja deberían tener tapa de vidrio para que permita ver el contenido sin abrir, además autosoportables. Es decir, que tenga una bisagra que sostenga la tapa. Esto facilitaría el servir los alimentos. En una mano se tiene el plato, con la otra se sirve y hay que reorganizar el buffet para poner la tapa del recipiente. Estuve únicamente desde las 10pm hasta las 8am del día siguiente. Por las razones aquí expresadas decidí hacer check-out.

Room was amazing! Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Did not eat at the restaraunt with the exception of the breakfast, however there are many restaurant options close by! The breakfast options were amazing and plentiful! Something for everyone! The staff was extremely friendly. I will definitely stay here again!
