I mean, it's a place to sleep, and that's all I was looking for; but I still think it may have been worth it to spend a little more just to have peace of mind when it came to cleanliness.
Everything definitely looks a little (or a lot) worn out. From the squeaky door when you enter the reception area, to the exposed wires along the stairs, and the parts of our room that either didn't work or were not cleaned thoroughly; its clear that this place needs a lot of maintenance. Our toilet lid wasn't on the tank, but rather on the floor, and clearly cracked, do we didn't attempt to put it back on. Also there were used toiletries from another guest left behind in the shower, which just seemed like lazy cleaning.
Overall, I was just grateful to have a safe place to stay while out of town.
I found the beds comfortable, and our towels were replaced by housekeeping (although not all of them, but thats fine), they also emptied our trash which I was grateful for.
