Expensive Auckland Visit

Overall, despite the weather, which no-one has any control over !!! It was a nice hotel, good location within easy walking distance of most amenities and attractions. Most of the staff were friendly and attentive to my needs apart from one individual, who, In my personal opinion, needs re-educating in the art of 'Customer Service', especially considering the cost of my stay and extra monies paid, food, drink etc on the premises. The only thing which really put a bit of a damper on my visit !!! Sorry, but these things need to be mentioned and, hopefully, subsequently addressed. Thanks to those who did make the effort for what can sometimes be a 'Thankless Task', manners and being polite go a long way in my book !!!

It was really fun when we had a huge thunder storm and could see it through the large glass windows. The cafeterior was large and spacious with a delicious continental breakfast. The pancake maker was a nice edition. The reception staff were kind and friendly.

Beautiful, clean, comfortable room, 10 out of 10. Breakfast very impressive, eggs bacon, continental, healthy options, donuts the works. Very nice and tasty and plentiful. The only gripe we had was having to pay $59 for parking, it should be clearer on the information before people book. The location is great, queen Street is pretty rough with rough people. We went to a concert at the civic which was a perfect location to get to the venue. Loved our stay overall thank you

Great hotel

Very friendly and helpful staff on reception. Delicious food and a super comfortable bed. Standard room is perfectly adequate size wise. Convenient for ferry to Waiheke. Very accommodating with luggage storage.

The continental breakfast was great. We were within walking distance of the Skytower and Weta Workshop Unleashed which was awesome! Parking in this area can be tricky though. The hotel has agreements with nearby parkades but it's still fairly expensive. We found the bathroom very strange. The shower door also doubled as the bathroom door. So when taking a shower the sink and toilet area were open to the room. This also meant the bathroom floor was often wet from the door dripping. We also discovered (rather embarrassingly) that the translucent glass wall between the shower and the rest of the room was near see through with the bathroom light on. Would be fine if you're alone or traveling as a couple but for a family of 4 it was... Awkward!
